Samson is at the LY tonight, but Gabby is on the tree. Jules had been standing on the opposite side of the nest from Romy, but she just decided to join him and is lying beside him now. Romy has been fighting those bugs. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

gretchen_AEF (Admin): MONDAY TUCK-IN: Samson made his ample deliveries today that were devoured. Romy has one honkin' crop! Samson landed on the LYT about 8pm and then flew to another one close by. He was there at dark when we left. He likely flew to a nearby pine to roost for the night. All is well and what a blessing our Romy and Jules have brought us . . . thanks to their amazing parents, Samson and Gabrielle. SED to all!

Update: Samson came home! He and Gabby can be seen on cam 2 now.

gretchen_AEF (Admin): SUNDAY TUCK-IN: Samson must have told Gabby he's got this! She didn't show up tonight, but when he arrived at the nest he vocalized a couple of times. He may have been communicating with her, and she is close by. We didn't see her in the ET or LY, but they have a lot of selections where to roost! The food deliveries may be lessened as the parents gradually slow feedings a bit to get the kids in "flight weight", so they are strong yet able to branch and then take their first flight. Won't be long!

gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK-IN: All is quiet in the nest tonight. Mild temps and little wind with a pleasant forecast for Wednesday. The kids were well fed today and snuggled side-by-side. We tucked Samson at the LYT. Gabrielle wasn't seen tonight, but you can be sure she's close by. The kids are of age where they will be left alone at night gaining some independence. They are also of age where they show aggression when food is delivered, and we will be seeing "drop and dash" by the parents. . .all good signs. SED

I remember in years past when Juliet would perch at night on a branch low on the nest tree, so the kids couldn't see her (called it the basement). At this stage the parents have gradually stayed away, so the kids gradually learn independence. . .an important being of a Bald Eagle. We didn't see Samson tonight, but he's close by. SED to all

The kids are hunkered down, and the wind has lightened up. We didn't see Samson tonight, but Gabby was perched across the street at the ET at 8pm after leaving the nest a bit earlier. Jules and Romy are on the nest wingersizing and awaiting parents to arrive with something to eat. I am unsure when Gabby left yesterday morning, however it has been more than 24 hours now since she has been on the nest tree.

Edit to add: Gabby did come to LOP and stayed there for several minutes during the noon hour and Samson also came in during that period with the 1st fish delivery of the day! So all is well!!

Gabby did come home tonight and is on the nest tree. When she left the tree yesterday morning she only returned for about a 20-30 minute visit early this afternoon and of course her arrival tonight. Gabby was perched for some time this evening low in the nest tree (referred to as "the basement") perhaps to be out of sight from the kids. Samson flew in before dusk, and they both flew across the street to the ET. Gabby couldn't resist and flew back home perched on Cam 2. SED to all and take care of yourself and others!
