A little late to document, but Jasper branched on 3/31/22 and Rocket on 4/2/22. Thought one had at least branched several days ago from something I read, however could not be sure and decided not to report here till verified. It is not as easy to get info here for me since their changeover to Discord a couple years ago or so. Jasper is the larger of the 2 and many believe female and therefore believe Rocket to be male. Today Jasper branched they said for an extended period of time which I assume she had not done previous and they expect the same from Rocket soon.

Jasper fledged this morning!!

Jasper came home this evening! Here's the Tuck with times of today's events:

SATURDAY TUCK-IN: Whoa what a day! Jasper fledged with great intent at 11:13am. She came flying in for her return tonight at 7:29pm landing on a low branch. She nailed her landing. She quickly made her way up to the nest branch to branch. She's full of confidence, accuracy and sure shows great skill for a first flight. There was fish waiting for her and the whole family celebrated her homecoming! Samson later flew and was at the ET when we left eating a fish (he snatched from the nest LOL). All is well and we have a happy Hamlet family that will sleep well tonight.....as we all will!

Rocket fledged this morning and has returned!! It was a gorgeous flight with a slow takeoff and he climbed higher and higher and circled. Saw a video earlier that included landing back on the nest tree with somewhat of a bang... :teehee:

Think the return to the nest tree was not immediate though as he did not come back till about noon. Will place here later if I can find again. Right now, I can't for some reason.

For now both Jasper and Rocket are on the same branch for the overnight. Usually when I check at night, Jasper sleeps on a branch and Rocket sleeps in the nest. We'll see if Rocket makes it...

I don't see how anyone is going to get sleep here tonight. Jasper and Rocket can be seen on cam 2 on opposing branches with the heaviest amount of insects flying about that I have ever seen here. You can hear one buzz every now and then. Mom can be seen on cam 1.

Jasper is sleeping away from home tonight at the LY with Mom and Dad for the 1st time as far as I know. Photo at site. Rocket is on the nest tree preening right now.

Rocket is enjoying the nest all to himself while Jasper spends the night again at the LY with Mom and Dad. They said she arrived before her parents earlier this evening.
