:mooncat: Samson and Gabby are both home tonight for the overnight it seems and look to be on separate branches. They did have an adult eagle intruder visit the nest tree while they were there earlier this eve giving rise to alerts from both of them and then one gave chase and shooed away the intruder.

:mooncat: Samson and Gabby are not on the tree tonight. It's windy at the nest right now, but they are not in the direct path of Nicole. Tropical storm warning is in effect. Rain and winds are to be in the 20's with gusts in the upper 30's. There is a threat of tornados.

:mooncat: The nest remains intact and it is still windy here. Samson did come in this morning since Gretchen's update and made a quick check of the nest and flew out.

Nicole weather update: Although the Hamlet is under a tornado watch, wind and rain is calming some here. We will likely see Samson and Gabby at the nest later today.

:mooncat: They are not on the nest tree currently, but both worked some on the nest today even with the winds and Samson went fishing and brought a fish in for Gabby this afternoon.

:mooncat: I am unable to get the cam tonight as it says fatal error. The site says Samson and Gabby were on the tree earlier this evening after dark, so may be spending the night here.

I received a message that they are offline. Nicole related, I surmise. I hope it is nothing more than that. :girlsad3:

:mooncat: Thanks, gigi! Just read at the site they are having streaming issues and has been reported. They still have their axis cams and are giving reports to us from what they see with that. So Samson and Gabby did spend the night here last night and both have returned again this morning and have been on the nest.

:mooncat: The cams are back since the above posted and both are on the nest tree and can be seen on cams 1 and 2.

:mooncat: Both were here earlier today, but are spending the night elsewhere. Samson brought Gabby a duck today and we were reminded of why she has her name as she flew in from the distance screaming the whole way in.

:mooncat: Wherever they spent the night last night, the cam op was able to hear vocals from them through the night. Both were in this morning and evening, but not on the nest tree now so far.

:mooncat: Samson and Gabby are both on the nest tree tonight. They can be seen on cams 1 and 2. They mated on cam earlier today. And Samson and Gabby did come in during the night last night to sleep. He at 12:45 am and she arrived a minute later. You just never know when those 2 are going to decide when to come in and sleep on the nest tree at night...

:mooncat: They seem to be staying the night. The mod said there was a mating on cam earlier this evening. You can see both of them on cam 1. Gabby is obvious and you have to look a little harder to see Samson for now. He is on a lower limb set farther back and to the right of her.

Wonder when we will see the first egg, I think last year they were late...
Many thanks Swinwk for the super coverage!

:mooncat: Samson and Gabby are both home tonight and can be seen for now sleeping with their heads tucked on cams 1 and 2. Both were on the nest this morning at least a couple times, but they missed the arrival of a sub adult to the nest for a visit. Captures are at site.

:mooncat: They just scanned the limbs looking for them, but not home so far tonight. Both have been in today, however.
