They are doing so well. Some days a bit leaner for E22, as we know oldest always gets more but E22 is really learning.
Last few days M15 has let a beautiful female roost with him. Night before last at the pines and last night he eventually went back to attic.

I am a softy as when M15 brought in young water bird that looked liked new hatch, my heart hurt. But E22 got a nice feed off it. ( which he needed).
M15 brought in a fish before this and intruder female followed him into nest, but she did not touch young ones or get fish and flew off over M15. I think she went to the pines

After 5pm M15 brought in a fish which E22 got all to himself. Short.y after same intruder came to nest E21 just lay there and E22 was not giving up his fish and mantled and stood up to her. She did not bother them, and flew up to branch close by.
So all is well.
Both E’s got lots.

I am not sure if this is same eagle that spent last 2 nights

And we learn

There was another owl hit last night while both perched in pines. M15 went to ground and then went to nest tree. Owl then targeted female and she chased it. Hope she is ok.
I

Youngsters on the move, I presume.

A fish meal already this morning. E22 claimed and got a good feed. E21 also got good feed

Both E22and E21 well fed Sat and Sunday. No sign of female from pines since owl attack. But there was a female with old injuries on feet and a few new ones, plus an injury on cere, (Saturday ) she did steal some of a leftover fish on Saturday but no harm to E’s They actually mantled and kept prey well covered.

Yesterday, was quiet for M15 as he was able to bring in more than enough.
The E’s are growing so fast.
Sure hope the 2 legged humans do not spook them as they prepare to fledge
Edit
M15 was knocked from attic twice by owl. Second time he landed in nest and knocked E22 who was able to keep his balance.
It appeared , that after second strike M15 gave chase to owl.
I have not seen. 15 this morning but he did go back to attic during night

Poor M15
One owl hit just before midnight march20 and one just after midnight march21.
This confirms in my mind that the young owlets are flying and parents protecting

Two prey items so far today. E21 always gets more but E22 getting enough.

E22 was struck by owl. Luckily went into nest and not out of nest . Appears ok, M15 was not in nest tree.
Afraid of this.
Pray all remains well

3fish today( an intruder female chased M15 around pasture this afternoon. He wisely let her have it. It was huge and he was panting from carrying it and trying to keep it away from intruder. She ate most of it on ground and eventually went to pond . M15 retrieved it and E21 got most of it. E22 ate one for sure all by himself and I am not sure who got third one but both well fed. E21 went to veranda today.
They both turned in lying in nest. I just checked at about 11pm and E21 is on edge again. M15 is roosting away from tree so I hope E22 remains safe.
I will be glad when they are flying so, if hit , they can fly
Stay safe young ones. Your mom is so proud of both you and E15. She has got you in her wings

Bev, that was E22 that went to the veranda last night. I was watching when it happened. He might have stayed up there longer, but M flew in with a fish. E22 hopped down from the veranda PDQ and got all of the small fish. Today I've seen E21 out on the porch. Both doing huge wing flaps. And I have seen pictures from locals of M being chased by an intruder yesterday as he flew in with an enormous fish. One local thought that M was about out of gas flying with that fish. I think he is avoiding any confrontation with those big female intruders.

you are right Jane, he was puffing as it was a large fish and he was exerting even more , trying to out fly intruder. He is smart and knew when to give in. She flew upside down to get it, just like a prey transfer
. sorry if I posted wrong but at one time E21 was on there also. she was going both sides.
They are both so capable now,
This is one nest, I watch right now. I am learning so much more this year. I think we all are. these intruders are not bad, they are just being eagles.

Sorry, very busy here
Youngsters are doing great
Owl struck E22 one more time, but no strikes in last few days.
E22 getting more aggressive in getting prey, which is great.
They are both often out of sight on cam1 as they are enjoying their freedom to branch
A female , has taken prey from M15 talons twice. But he is fine. He always goes and gets leftovers. But she has not been bothering youngsters in nest.

As I have said, what an education. Too bad the general public there, would not stay away from site. There have always been the loyal few, but they are respectful to the eagles.
Some will do anything for a picture.
Still trying to post some pictures before they fledge. They are gorgeous

E22 was hit twice by owl last night. I feared this would happen. The first time he was knocked , he was just below nest, in a v shaped branch. If he had stayed still, he may have been ok, but he kept flapping, and owl came in for 2nd hit. He went backwards and landed quite a bit below. Could hear and see him.
Now in morning light , they zoomed in and there he is . He has been flapping so appears ok. I think it will take M15 coming in for him to move. Fingers crossed. E21 still away but they showed a distance picture just before dark of an adult eagle quite high up in tree. So if M15, he has got this

What a roller coaster
