There was some pretty good winds blowing at the nest (scared me to death) and it being up high in the tree and the leaves are grown in, I'm sure she will be OK Auntie Patti/worrywart :teehee:

Well I don't think she has either, I more or less got chewed out at the FB page by a mod. for asking if it was a fledge or just branching, oh yea & I didn't call her F13 I said she and you would have thought I had committed a crime.
So of course I got pi**ed and took myself off of the site. :teehee:

I don't think so either, remember those pictures from gmbird , the nest has a lot more branches than some people realize, me personally I think she is still just on the branches. You can hear her all the time moving & whining.
Here is one of the pictures she posted this Eaglet has so many to go to

My opinion (and only mine) is "S" had been branching the past week and finally fledged yesterday June 16th. It was the first day she was not on the nest all day no sounds from her and she didn't sleep over.
Golden wrote at RRP

7:48 Mom in with food.
7:49 Survivor in squeeing and mantling. Parent off to the other side of the nest.
7:50 Survivor moves to 9 and then 12 and begins to eat whatever was there or was brought in. Stays in noisy defensive or protective mode. Mom is up above 5 I think.
8:06 Quieter and self feeding.
8:14 Still feeding
"S" still there 2 hours later

OK so as much as I watch this is the first time I have seen "S" FLY OFF and not just jump on a branch

Bravo Kitten!! :)

Were Golden's comments from this morning, or yesterday morning?

I was watching her this morning eating something that I think Dad had brought. Then Mom showed up and there was more food but Mom seemed to be eating it all herself. Pics as soon as I get a chance.

Kitten I am so glad to read these reports. I don't think Survivor fledged until the 15/16th either. I think what they saw and kept saying at the fort st vrain fb page was Survivor going to that branch out beyond 3/4 where Scout used to go in 2011. I have not had as much time to watch this year for several reasons so I could not really dispute their claim. Gmbird and I were going to go to the nest on 6/13 but it was just way tooooo HOT. Some others did go to the nest and really upset S and the parents. I could hear them on the cam so they were too close and too loud. But I could hear S nearby so again I wondered about h/h having fledged. Another case in point is that we know that the juvies usually branch for 4 or 5 days before they fledge.

I am going to make note of it at HWF though. I don't argue with RRP.
I am also going to put in the HWF notes the 1/16 date as fledge date.
Wish I had more time and that the dailies were still available. Have a great day.

Oh I'm so glad someone else besides patti & I think that "S" was just branching. And like you I have learned not to dispute what they say at RRP FB its to much I know you don't there.

PattiO and Kitten face... as a new person that has been watching nests, the first thing I learned is, there are many people out there that know more than what they think. Unless , they are on the ground watching the fledge or have a camera angle different then what we see. they should not rule the world... In a short time I have seen mods leave a site not to return because of this thinking. Said because they are the ones learning with us, and don't make us feel dumb. I don't go FB ever. You 2 are doing a great job, don't let people rattle your cage. :attention:
