Please tell me this isn't true. Peregrine Place is reporting that the 5th egg has hatched...

On some level, Dixie knew it was the baby. She gathered it first..then the rest.

Its all nice and fluffy, so I don't know when it actually hatched.

Just finished a feed. This was basically my view the entire time. Glimpses of 4 or 5 occasionally. No clue if they ate.

This is really gonna test Dixie's skill and awareness and our nerves. I still can't believe I'm seeing 5. I keep counting and recounting...and I think its true. I'm hoping one of you will tell me that I need to get my eyes checked..LOL

I didn't count 5 but I did see a little one; very little in comparison plus very sleepy looking.

Honestly, I didn't think that last egg would hatch. I also saw Dixie fixated on the wee one. So sweet.

that egg looked toast to me. my eyes must be really bad because OI just cannot see 5. I have had cam on record all day to keep track of Yankee and kids. hi sis not good at all. after you posted, I went back again and parts I thought may be ahead were other chicks partsl

Dixie has to help with hunting. Yankee is doing good job, with injury. , but she needs to catch bigger ones

It is like a puddle of feathers. I sure hope I'm wrong...I haven't found the other egg, though...

I watched an entire feed just now and only ever saw 4 bobbing heads. But that's not to say the 5th babes wasn't under the others.

I'm still going through my footage...so, here goes...

Easy to find four. I really can't say who ate other than 1, 2, and 3. Hopefully #4 got some bites. #4 is in the back..

Memorize #4's size..

Dixie went to give it a bite, but it was too big and one of the larger chicks snagged it.

I think this is 4 and 5 with mouths open

I did finally see #5. wont say a word, except not a good thing

yankee sure stepped up today. he came to ledge with prey 4 times that I saw him, including a late night one at 8:30pm

Feed going on right now and I can't stick around to watch..If I thought there was anyone that was receptive, I would beg for #5 to be removed temporarily...but, we know that's not gonna happen.

Anyway, here are the 5. I didn't see what came in, but it looks fairly large...so, its up to Dixie now.

opened the cam..yankee was there and Dixie flew up with I don't know what.....not enough to even qualify for a snack it was so little (probably some poor fledgling songbird). only 2 had bites...you can see itty-bitty up with the rest of them.

came in for a wee look and cannont bear it. wee one in back. others getting fed well and it has mouth open and gets none.

it will get laid on and then nothing
some adults will go from both ways . It is down now and Dixie will no t see it . to make morning.

I am just heart broken. It just cannot get past those biggies and Dixie not reaching over.

she goes off with a wee bit and poor peanut is squished against back wall. it s beak was open.

I am not cut out for this.
some say nature and I say just plain uncaring.

I haven't been able to bring myself to watch. David E. reported this morning on Facebook that there was a feed...for 4. He thought baby was quite weak. baby got none of the feed he watched.

Sorry gals...just can't watch until this has resolved...one way or the other.
