Here she is. I thought for sure this was it, but don't see an egg yet. Now she's resting for a while.

1:45 - Dorothy just backed up in the box & took a big poop. She's now back over her scrape. She did the same thing last time she was in labor before she laid her egg.

Well, looks like this labor is just as difficult as the first labor. She's been at it for quite awhile now. I can see she's pushing and keeps re-positioning.

Hmmm...maybe there will be only 1 egg this year. Disappointing, but certainly easier on Dorothy.

Last year she had problems laying as well if I remember correctly, or there was a few days between egg 1 and 2 I think? We'll have to wait and see I guess.

You're right, Carly. She laid her 1st egg on 3/13 & the second on 3/16. Then there was another 3-day gap between the 3rd & 4th egg, but the normal timing between eggs is over 48 hours, so I'm not sure that means anything. She laid 5 eggs last year, but only 2 hatched.

She went through another round of what I though was labor around 4:45....I even recorded it...but, then she started preening...so, I don't know...and she hasn't moved either...maybe its not labor? I hope its not if its not producing an egg (of course, who knows if this last round produced anything..)

She is snoozing and hasn't moved.

I was watching her earlier today and it seemed for the most part, she was hunched over and squatting. I had to pick up dog toys outside and move some laundry when my cam timed out. When I came back in and started cam again, I found her standing with tail in air... reminds me of when they are letting the egg dry. Even if I made the window full screen, I don't know if this is new, or if #1 is behind her and this is #2, or if it's #1 and she's just standing over it?

She finally moved at 9:16pm. Backed up again to poop. Only 1 egg.

I really feel bad for her. I do feel she was really trying earlier today. And now she's awake again.

I was watching her last night. I don't think she feels well.

I thought for sure she was in labor yesterday. I saw her poop several times in the nest. Once she woke up and moved to poop, I don't think she went back to the egg. She stayed in the upper left side if box, almost out if cam range, then moved to the upper right side - seemed almost in the corner each time. I thought that was sort of odd.

I've watched her a few times over the years, but never really closely. I wish I had taken the time to watch her when she was still in her prime.

I cannot watch very much but when I have, your description is what I thought too....

I've never seen a falcon 'stop' the process of laying eggs as it were. I remember Freedom but she was already 'done' by the time I met her. I remember Roosevelt once or twice trying to entice her to mate but she wasn't interested.

I wonder if she experienced a similar thing or she was 'just done' . I sure hope it's just she's done and not something more serious.

Me too.

I can tell you as of at least Saturday, I believe she was still mating. Everything seemed normal. In the picture I posted last night, her crop looked extremely full, and I don't think I saw her actually lay on the egg last night. Instead, she stood with her head tucked back. At times, it seemed like she was having a hard time balancing. I'm guessing that was probably due to her standing position and falling asleep.

11:08 - Dorothy has been up for about 30 minutes. She's trying to push again. I've been recording for 7 minutes now.

11:11 - E2 must have given alarm call in distance because Dorothy perked up and was OUT of the box ASAP.

11:12 - heard E2 wail and now, I think I'm hearing Dorothy chup again. Well, at least she has energy.

11:14 - I think E2 just came into box, covering egg
