ABLE TO SEE HOSHI ON THE LEDGE AGAIN. MOST OF UPPER LEDGE AND ALL OF LOWER LEDGE AND NESTBOX HAD BEEN IN SHADOW. EVERYTHING IN VIEW AGAIN! :egg19:

Pretty sure there was a feed here just a few minutes ago as the chicks were going crazy but ledge dark and could only see chick legs here and there. As soon as parent left, total silence.

In fact, I was watching Harrisburg when I heard sudden screaming and was waiting for the cam to rotate so I could see the chicks and when it did they were standing just where they had been and not a sound. Then I was like OMG it's Columbus.

YES LJAMES, I THOUGHT IT WAS A FEED TOO. :egg11:

BUT, OUR MISS HOSHI IS SOMEHOW THROWING THE CAM VIEW IN SHADOW. EVERYTIME SHE WOULD BACK AWAY TOWARD THE EDGE OF THE LEDGE THE SHADOW WOULD LEAVE AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE IN VIEW AGAIN, INCLUDING HER! I SUSPECT SHE IS THROWING IT IN SHADOW NOW AS I THINK I CAN HEAR LITTLE FOOTSTEPS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE! THE FUNNY THING IS ... YOU CAN NOT SEE HER BLOCKING THE CAM ... :egg16:

We had cams here a few years back that whenever there was motion, like a falcon nearby, it would go in to disco flashing mode. It was insane.

HOSHI AND DART PREPARED FOR BED IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF CAM. EVENTUALLY, HOSHI STEPPED TOWARD PORCH AND LAYED DOWN. SHORTLY, I COULD HEAR NOISE AND FEMALE CAME INTO CENTER OF NEST. IT WAS TOO DARK TO TELL IF IT WAS HOSHI, BUT I SUSPECT THAT IT WAS. DART LAYED DOWN IN FRONT OF CAM AND FEMALE CAME AND LAYED BESIDE HIM. I STAYED UNTIL I COULD SEE NO MORE IN NEST. I DID NOT SEE 3RD CHICK COME INTO NESTBOX TONIGHT. I BELIEVE @ THE LAST FEED LJAMES AND I COULD HEAR AROUND 1800 ... ALL 3 WERE THERE FROM THE SOUNDS OF IT. PROBABLY SOMEONE IS SLEEPING ON PORCH OR LEDGE.

Thanks for the great pics and the great coverage!!! Was that Blaze on the ledge with Hoshi? WOW!!!

I did open the cam when I got home (maybe 7:30ish?) and could just barely see a feed taking place on the upper ledge in front of the box..parent's tail stuck just far enough out for me to see. I couldn't tell how many kids were on the upper ledge...

Hoshi and Dart were very cute in the box at bed time...I got a few pics but probably won't get them posted until tomorrow..

I sure wish they had weighed these kids at banding...Hoshi's plumage is so male like...or better yet, it sure would be nice if these 3 would line up in a neat little row to compare size!!!

Hoshi is still hogging the cam and blocking the view..but, somebody is now down on the lower ledge..

I had just seen one sleeping in the box & since there was so much freezing, I was worried about whether it was breathing. :egg14:

Then I went to check some other cams I had open & when I came back, that chick was gone, & Durand was feeding in front of the ledge cam. :egg19:
