Lil Dad just brought breakfast. The wind is nasty. thank goodness they are smaller.

Edit: They have to wait for the de-feathering. So cute! I think that is Niecey not Lil Dad! They must have been fed before this, because two aren't that interested.

THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A FEEDING EARLY BEFORE I GOT HERE. TWO ARE ACTING LIKE THEY ARE STARVED WHILE THE OTHER TWO JUST HUDDLE, LOL!

I THINK LIL DAD BROUGHT FOOD AND WAS READY TO FEED. NOW NIECEY IS GONE AND SO IS FOOD, BUT LIL DAD GETS TO SPEND TIME WITH CHICKS :-)

HAS THEM PRETTY WELL COVERED TOO :-)

Heard Lil Dad up there a few minutes ago, but never did see him. It's been raining steadily here for at least an hour. Niecey looks a little wet, and is doing her best to keep the chicks dry.

According to the noon weather, it's a whopping 48 degrees here, and we'll be lucky to reach 50. That wind is coming out of the southeast at 21 MPH, with gusts to 28. It's to be warmer tomorrow, but that's when the heavy rain is to arrive. Tough day for Lil Dad to be hunting. There have been birds at my feeders today, but not many.

Crimes, Niecey left the chicks. Thirty seconds later Lil Dad was there with food. He started feeding them and Niecey returned. Lil Dad retreated out the back door. Chicks are ravenous.

Actually don't think there was a whole lot of meat on that meal. Niecey took off with the remains of it, and now Lil Dad is in the scrape working on a TINY piece of leftovers. He is looking all over the scrape looking for something to feed the chicks. They are pecking at his beak. Lil Dad is SO awesome.

Glad you posted that picture of Lil Dad, pearl1. Niecey is back now, and covering the chicks. Lil Dad certainly tried, but he's not big enough. That wind is SO horrible here.

Another feeding ended about five minutes ago. It was more substantial than the last one. Niecey is back to brooding the chicks.
