Went through the City last evening and the fog was something else. Lightly raining at that time too. Caught a quick glimpse of the Brandywine Bldg. Wondered how they were getting along in all that fog. The top of the Bldg. where the nest box is, was all covered in thick fog. I'm sure Mother Nature has equipped them well.

Red Girl is sitting there very contentedly at the moment. Am not going to go into detail on this, but was listening to something last night from the man who bands Peregrines in Pennsylvania. He said last year there were two nests in PA with five eggs. He also said he's seen nests with six eggs, and once with SEVEN!

Oh no, not SEVEN eggs!

I was hoping that Red Girl would stop at four or five eggs this year, but of course she didn't. Fledge watch will be something else this year if all six eggs hatch.

Well, he said five is unusual, six is rare, and seven is almost unheard of. Does that make anyone rest easier?

I think the "exploding" eggs happened last summer in Columbus. Only one of the four hatched, and the other three sat there in the hot sun forever. The unhatched eggs were not retrieved by biologists. I believe somebody actually posted a video of one of them popping. And I believe Trinity is there now.

Red Girl is there right now. Noticed that there's a semi-circular outline in the gravel, likely made from her tail as she changes positions.

Can't quite decide who is on the eggs at the moment, but there's an egg not being incubated. It's sitting next to the right wing of whichever falcon is incubating. I do think it's Red Girl that's there. And after entering this post, the falcon left. The six eggs were arranged in two vertical rows of three. Am certain that it's Red Girl there now.

Looks like Trinity on the eggs now, though he's moved them closer to the camera and looks big. He's bending his head down and biting in the stones -- maybe getting grit for his crop.

Someone nailed a pigeon yesterday and a woodcock today.

Thanks Greg. I think that was Trinity that I saw earlier after reading your post, and just looked at the cam. But Red Girl did come in after he left. The cam is very jumpy today. :-(

Thanks Greg for dinner menu. With the rain coming today and tomorrow, I'm glad they are under cover. Like I said on HBG. site, happy the eggs aren't hatched yet.

As of 3:15 P.M. One egg sticking out from whoever is on the eggs. It is raining hard and very windy.

Edit: Going back over the posts, I see where Jane saw an egg sticking out the same way as right now. From the back of the wing.

I noticed that "egg" sticking out this afternoon, too. Am wondering if it's an optical illusion.
