I was watching when Lil Dad came in to check on things. He is SO devoted. Niecey isn't allowing him much time with the chicks this afternoon. I know how to catch pictures, but NOT how to post them. :-(

Good grief, I thought that she was going to jump straight up to the shield. I could just imagine a chick stuck to her talon.
I have a vivid imagination and none of it good when it comes to falcon chicks. :girlcrazy:

Actually I bet that has happened before. I know once a falcon flew off with an egg stuck to him, in Australia I think. Poor thing.

I thought I saw 4 littles ones in the morning and I have only seen 3 now. IS one buried in the chick pile sleeping? Mom is a very good door.

TUNED IN TO SEE NIECEY FEEDING THE BABIES AT 6:01 AM. NOT SURE WHEN THE FEEDING STARTED. VERY QUIET MOSTLY EXCEPT FOR A CHUP HERE AND THERE.

EDIT: FEEDING WAS OVER BY 6:03 AND NIECEY LEFT WITH REMAINS. SHE LEFT A COUPLE BIG FEATHERS THERE WITH THE CHICKS AND WHEN SHE CAME BACK, LEFT IT THERE AND COVERED THE CHICKS AND THE FEATHERS, LOL!

NIECEY WAS JUST THERE FEEDING THEM SOME MORE, BUT LEFT WITH A DECENT SIZE PREY. THEY NOW LOOK LIKE THEY ARE ON A FEATHER BED! WISH SHE WOULDN'T DEFEATHER IN THE SCRAPE!

I remember she did that last year too. There were a lot of feathers in there last year. Chilly this morning. In the 40's. Great pictures.

I GUESS MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY SHE CAN KEEP LIL DAD FROM COMING IN WITH THE CHICKS, LOL! ALSO, HE'S PROBABLY PRETTY BUSY STOCKING UP THE CACHE :-)
