De 3 jongen zijn geringd en er is een pleegkind bij gekomen.
Ze zijn nu met zijn viertjes.

Your welcome, & yes it is good that she was rescued.
I just find it kind of strange that there wasn't a nest in Missouri that she could have been fostered in.

WOO HOO!!! So glad they posted that info...as it was such a surprise to see 4 chicks!!! LOL

Thanks KF..

I'm just impressed that they went to such trouble to foster Chickie...from Missouri to Illinois? That's what I call doing whatever it takes to ensure the health and survival of a chick...makes me even more furious at some of these sites where humans just allow them to die...

....and it is very sad about the parents. I wonder why the dad abandoned? Gosh, I sure hope that doesn't happen at UMass Lowell...I'm not very happy with those people right now..

I sure wish we could get more info like was there any others if so were they fostered and what state/nests. I went to Chicago FB but I didn't see anything.

Falcon banding comes with high-flying drama

Chickie came from a nest where the mother falcon broke a wing and died, and the male tended the nest for a short time before abandoning it. Another chick had a beak problem and was taken to a rehabilitation center

I caught the tail end of a feed..I think everyone got their fill..When mom was done, she took the leftovers away from the kids and tried to finish them off herself....didn't work...they came begging..

I never saw the chick on the right eat..so, he must have been one of the first to fill up..

Image

Mom trying to finish off the leftovers, but didn't work...chickie is on the far left, I think..

Image

He eventually moved over, ducked under mom's chest, and stood up right in front of her, blocking the other kids, and received a few more bites for his efforts...would have made a cute vid, but I had already stopped the recorder..

I can't see a thing now because of that PS, great video I'm so glad to see that Chickie is getting fed and not being bullied.
