Het was mooi weer hier om wat rond de toren te vliegen, dat deden ze dan ook met soms een pauze op de lamp.

Well, some good and some not-so-good news about the cams

There is a new antenna on the roof, on the corner where the "north" webcam also stood. This is a DAB antenna, (Digital Audio Broadcast) The radio waves are só strong that it fried the new northern webcam and is scrambling the infra-red of the nestbox cam. So a new cam is now installed above the nestbox.

It makes me worry about the health hazards to the falcons; when they have eggs and sit on them for 5 weeks, what will that radiation do them and to the embryo's ???

OH NO!!!

I know nothing about this type of antenna...nor how much radiation it is emitting or the frequency being used...thus, not sure what to search for..so, I don't even know if this report would apply!!

Looks like there could be lots of information in this document...I just don't know what to look for...Thank goodness its not a cell phone antenna...I'm reading lots of bad stuff about those and birds...

Is there an opening on the side and the front of the box now? That's a bit of a worry with those terrible winds up there.

That is where the webcam will go once they have it fine-tuned and the infra-red is shielded adequately from the interference from the new antenna.
