Two chicks have hatched this morning! :hatchegg: :hatchegg: :loveshow:

There is no camera so far this season due to no internet connection. TPC has been working on getting a connection but nothing so far. She does have someone from conservation come and look through a small window to check on them. I am her eyes on the ground so I will be checking on them also.

We were up on the parkade this afternoon across from the McKenzie bldg and watched an adult bald eagle receive Hurricane's wrath. She stormed out of the nest box and across the lower roof to chase and attack the eagle. I saw her thump it a couple of times before it decided it was time to go. They were quite far away to the east but I managed to take a few photos. Brooklyn in the meantime was on a Scotia building window ledge, somebody had to stay and guard the kids. Hurricane finally came back after a few minutes and perched on the tower across the street. She may have been picking eagle feathers out of her talons. :teehee: Then she flew back over to the nest box and Brooklyn perched at the bottom of the clock tower. We left after that.

It's been a week now and looks like the last egg isn't going to hatch here. But three chicks will certainly keep Hurricane and Brooklyn busy. :girlluv:

We got lucky in our timing today when Brooklyn showed up with a snack. Hurricane was hot on his heels to take it from him, she grabbed it and took it across the street to the communications tower to defeather it. She then flew over to the nest box and fed the chicks. We could only see two chicks while she was feeding and we were wondering where the other one was. :egg16: After she left the third chick showed itself, thank goodness!!

These three are supposed to get their bling today around 11am but it is storming right now. It may move off by the time the banders get here. :egg16:

I caught one chick taking a poop shot over the edge the other day. :teehee:
