IMPORTANT NOTICE: a massive fire has been raging tonight (Friday 14th March) at the Assembly Rooms Car Park near the cathedral. As a consequence equipment used to relay signals from the cathedral to the internet have been damaged, probably destroyed so it will be some time before the web cams will be up and running again. Rest assured the cathedral was NOT affected and that our birds are safe.
We will update you as soon as we know anything more.

A large and serious-looking fire at Derby Assembly Rooms car park this evening has knocked out our peregrine webcams. We rely on Derby Council's laser link from The Silk Mill to a unit mounted high on the side of the car park which then connects with the Council House. As you can see this is a serious situation which is unlikely to be resolved immediately, and of course we hope no-one has been hurt in the ongoing incident .
