Around 8:00 this morning 2 peregrines were more or less bonding in the nest box. The female was quite enthusiastic, but the male seemed distracted…

BREMER- about 7 minutes ago, he brought her a food gift. She eagerly took it and hopped down in the nest box to eat it. It seemed like he was waiting for a “thank you” , but she just kept eating. She seems a Lot bigger than he….

Something seems amiss at Bremer....I'm starting to think the resident male has been displaced....sure hope I'm wrong...but, eggs have been unattended several times today. Male has brought in food gift twice that I could find....but when Mom takes it, he doesn't take over incubation....or maybe we have a male that doesn't want to incubate. Who knows.

If anybody catches the male incubating...let us know...

mom was on the eggs...Male brings food...(he's a good provider)

Mom takes food and leaves

Male's half attempt at getting on the eggs...after stepping on them quite a few times..

he left...and perched for a while before leaving the box empty

Mom has just returned and is on the eggs.

So....I don't know...original male? new male?

Eggs should be fine for now...but, he's gotta step up to the plate in terms of incubating. Time will tell if Mom lays a 4th.
