Well, since we don’t know much about this nest I thought I would keep a close eye on this nest today. Since my maids are off today LOL, right?? I had several chores around the house to do too. So no major revelations. I know the pair is Very faithful in caring for their eggs ( I never got a clear look) But I do know there are still four eggs, and the mama? is banded black and green ( or blue depending on how many feathers were in the way…)

Colannade City Center- cam is a little wonky right now- I wonder if they had storms last night. Mom is currently on the eggs, and dad is standing there looking at her, waiting for His turn to cover the eggs :loveheart:

A little bit of information about one of the residents. In the miscellaneous thread, Sky Girl Blue posted a picture of a banded adult at the Colonnade/ Center City site.. It had a band which looked like P/18 black/ green. Is this correct?

Parent was on the eggs this am so I am not sure what
is happening. Eggs are due to hatch.

These parents are banded (did we know this)?
Hope they are not sick...

Parent is now on the eggs--maybe that parent you caught, Beth, was too hot. I can't see beyond the present cause they have the red line to far to the right. :gaaaaah:

Ive observed this nest, and only one, the female? is banded. Maryann posted a picture of this bird in the misc
Section of the forum. The picture has a very readable band- P/18 green/ black. Your picture, Beth has 2 banded birds… The unbanded male was always very faithful to his eggs, waiting patiently for a chance to cover them. I hope the intruder can be driven away.

Momma has settled down, even sleeping on her eggs. Just now something woke her. She started kakking while still on the eggs, then got up to perch on the lip of the nestbox and now she has gone up to the roof of the nest box! I’m heading out, I hope the resident unbanded male is the victor…

Is it my eyes? The current image of mom in the nest box looks weird to me? Ok, she got up to shuggle the eggs….Maybe it’s the angle of the sun into the nestbox…

I need to go and retrieve what I posted in MISC..sorry, thought I had done that...

I've been monitoring most of the day and Mom has been there the entire time I've had the cam up...

Finally, a banded male entered...ever so briefly...Mom didn't seem overly upset, but she didn't get up either...and he just left.

I'm very behind with this nest..is/was the resident male banded?

I could tell they were chatting

Thanks T and Beth...so, that explains the unsettledness (is that a word) at this nest.

Sadly...this nest failed last year.

This pair was doing great before the intruder arrived. The adults were devoted to each other and the unbanded tiercel was always stopping in to see if he could have a turn on the eggs. It is concerning to me that I have not seen the resident tiercel at the nest today.

The female here seems uncertain this morning. When I opened the cam she was standing beside the eggs, but turned away, looking down, eyes open. She stayed in that posture for several minutes, then sat down on her eggs. She has not shut her eyes the whole time she has been on the eggs. Seems tense. Is she deciding what to do?
