:1val: Osprey sightings are starting to be reported in Maine now, so hoping Steve and Phoebe will show up in the next week or so.

:eggthumb: They cleaned out the old nest today and added starter sticks for the new nest to be.

:15heartbeat: Should be anytime now, unless they decide to give up on this nest ..

lalabanker11 posted a map of reported osprey and the reports surround Bremen.

:dancingegg: He's home! He's home! Steve landed on his nest at 3:36 pm!! One day later than he's ever arrived previous. The prevailing winds had been out of the NE for several days and may have contributed to the delay. But, he's home! He's home! :dancingegg:

:eggthumb: It's been hard watching Steve building up his nest, bringing fish and no takers. Then all of a sudden this morning, there was a female that arrived and within time there was Steve and a female on the nest and 2 osprey in the air. So far, the one on the nest does not appear to be Phoebe and no way to know who's in the air. But, the excitement has begun and hoping to see Phoebe soon!

There are 2 osprey at the boathouse today and the male is showing submissive behavior toward her. He did eventually mate. Phoebe has not returned to Hog Island. Multiple females have shown up. A fan favorite and maybe Steve favorite is one they are calling Callie d/t her mottled Calico look of her feathers. She is the one who seems to spend the most time with Steve on the nest.

:15heartbeat: It seems things are still unsettled here, but it does not appear that Phoebe is returning this season. A female they call Callie d/t her mottled (Calico) feathers was here several days ago and seems to be the fan favorite of all the females who have been with Steve over several days. Then she up and left for a few days, but has returned over last couple days and things may be progressing again. Now the osprey that were visiting the boathouse nest have not been seen for several days.

:15heartbeat: It seems Phoebe will not return this season, hoping she is okay. Steve and Callie seem to be settling in now. A couple have been at the boathouse nest frequently over the last week and it seems they are mating. The female was involved in epic battles with another female a few days ago though and will have to wait and see if they actually stay this season and produce eggs.

:newegg: :newegg: Mrs. Boat House laid egg two this morning at 5:54. The first egg remains buried. She has incubated this egg some, but is off now.

:newegg: :newegg: :newegg: Mr. and Mrs. Boat House are incubating during the day more than they were, but I don't think necessarily at night, however because the cam does not have IR, it is impossible to know if they fly in after dark. Third egg was laid today. From mod:

RknRbn Mod 40 minutes ago
Egg #1 - May 29 at 7:21am EDT (now buried in nest)
Egg #2 - June 2 at 5:54am EDT
Egg #3 - June 5 at 4:05am EDT

:buzzybee: Mrs. Boat House remained on the eggs as night fell on 6/5/21 and she was there when the sun rose this morning. She continues to be spooked away from the nest when anyone approaches the dock.

:10sum: Voting is now open to name Mr. and Mrs. Boat House! I was sorry to see they didn't keep the names for them submitted by followers as a pair together, choosing instead to do singularly. But, I am rooting for Skiff for the male and Dory for the female after the small boats that dock there in cam view as submitted by a viewer. I thought it was perfect for them. Go to site and vote under featured comment. I tried to post the link here, but shows as error.

OK - time for a poll to name the Boat House Ospreys! We have gathered as many name suggestions from the chat boards as we could. We will have one poll for male Osprey names, and one poll for female Osprey names. Polls open today, and will close by the end of next week, so VOTE NOW

:eggthumb: Steve was in the area today and probably upon seeing another osprey flying in the area, he landed on the nest and mantled. The other osprey seemed to start to land, but flew off. Steve had not been seen since June 8th on cam. Callie has not been seen on cam since the end of May. No nesting season this year, but maybe next year. So sad for Steve who worked so hard on his nest ...
