Lots of sad Eagle news this year...
NCTC-Shepherdstown WV Eagle webcam news:
Last night a terrible storm hit the nest and
all 3 little biggie/ones (born in mid March) fell with the nest to the ground.
So sorry to say the 3 babies didn't survive the fall.

Thanks for posting Beth. I have followed this nest faithfully. Was so happy to see Shep turn around this year and be a great male. The 3 eaglets were growing so nicely. I am struggling to come to grips with this, so couldn’t bring myself to post

I am still following quite a few eagles nests. A few sad events, and lots of joyful ones, and a special educational experience at NEFL this year. Just could not find time to post everone, as I follow quite a few. Eagles were my love before peregrines.
So on this Easter Sunday, let’s send good thoughts to Shep and Bella , who are in the area. Bless Sheps heart , as he was in protection mode , when they were searching for the eaglets and recovered them in a small box. It is a reminder how fragile nature is and how we all must stand up for the protection of our environment. Soar on Eagles wings, my 3 sweet lovelies.

this is just horrible...one of the few nests I periodically had time to check on...poor babies..and poor parents.

for those who missed it...the resident male was displaced...and the eggs went for very long periods of time uncovered...the new male finally came around and accepted the eggs..
