This zoom meeting was scheduled before the weekend's events with 399, so it turned out to be perfect timing and could be seen live earlier this evening. Here is a FB link (you do not have to be a member to view) to the recording of "Big Sky Town Hall Series: Living in Bear Country". It is 90 minutes long and while I only intended to watch the 1st few minutes tonight, I actually watched the whole thing. If you are interested in 399 and/or bear conservation, you'll enjoy this. The introductions are a little lengthy, but don't skip over or you'll miss a pre-recorded message from a world renowned conservationist for a different species. Who knew she is following 399!!

Yesterday, MELBOURNE~367 COLLINS STREET, lost their youngest to an illness the biologists thought was trich. The biologists were hesitant to go out on the ledge thinking he would fly and would surely drop to his death, and they felt that anyway, the trich couldn't be cured at this late date. :sorrow:

First eagle egg that I am aware of on cam in the USA and it is from the Osceola couple at 17:22 this evening! Dad got to see at 17:53 and he couldn't get enough and decided to incubate at 17:56 for a bit. Go to site as you can still view on the 12 hour DVR and even though the sun has set, Mom can still be seen over the egg on the nest as it is a cloudy night. Go to Florida/Georgia under Eagles and scroll down past SWFL and Osceola is first in the subgroups if you don't know how to get there. (It was years before I knew how to get to some of these sites as others did, because I didn't know to keep scrolling down.)

Norwich Cathedral UK - GA Update
Further to our post yesterday, the Hawk and Owl Trust was notified by a member of the public that a Norwich Peregrine had collided with a stationary car at Norwich Cathedral. Once verified by the Cathedral staff and the Trust, the Peregrine Falcon GA was retrieved by Hawk and Owl staff.
Further to taking expert advice, it was confirmed that she had suffered neurological damage. Despite our best efforts, sadly, she did not make it through the night and passed away in the early hours.
We would like to thank all those involved yesterday in trying to save GA.

On the Polish website https://www.peregrinus.pl/
we have 20 preview of falcon nests (currently the preview is not active in Police and Szczecin, and Anwil Wloclawek will be turned on in January). It is easy to count that 38 falcons were viewed online and treated as family members.

The more difficult it is to come to terms with their disappearance, they must have died.

This breeding season we lost 6 falcons:
- there is no Flisak and Katarzynka at PGE Torun
- there is no Bolko at PEC Walbrzych
- at PGE Lublin we lost Lupek and 1 young already ready for ringing (poisoning)
- at Emitel Dobra recently Lola and Grzes
