:newegg: for Rita and Ron. Nice closeup view of this nest "Wildlife Rescue of Dade County Eagle Nest Cam". Last contraction was at 20:44 and view of egg at 21:00. Mom is resting now.

Cam link

From their FB:

Rita and her egg.

Edit to add: This cam froze and went black at 2:22 am on 11/25/21, but can still go back 12 hours on the DVR. Everyone seems to be having trouble getting their new cams to stream,

:5turkey: Thanks for the pics, Ferenz!! The link I posted above for Rita and Ron's nest is streaming this morning. Possibly they had trouble with the IR in the middle of the night that caused it to go black there, not sure.

:5turkey: Here's the newest link for Rita and Ron of the "Wildlife Rescue of Dade County Nest" sometimes referred to as the "Miami Nest" or the "Miami Zoo Nest". I have seen it called all 3. Rita may have the 2nd egg tonight as the 1st egg was laid between 8:00 and 9:00 pm on the 24th. Rita has bands on both legs and Ron is not banded, so another way to tell which one you are viewing when visible.

:newegg: :newegg: Congratulations to Rita and Ron on your 2nd egg this evening! She did a PS at the end of the 9:48 minute, then a short labor for about 2 minutes or more. Unsure of exact time, she stood for awhile before we get our 1st look at about 9:58 pm.

*Newest link to site in above post.

There is a newer link for Rita and Ron's nest, but I am getting the "string error" when I tried to post it and my comment. So, just go to last link for the nest in 2 posts above and then search the right hand column for the live link.

:5turkey: Gigi, now your newest link froze at 16:38. It has moved to 16:40 after a few minutes. Just want to add a little history. Last season their nest came down in a storm. One eaglet passed and the other one was rescued from the ground. The rescuer said Rita was not too pleased with the rescue. But, it did survive. I do not know if or when it was released, but little bits I have picked up from chat, makes me think it was released in due time. The current nest is in a different tree and the framework for it is a "papasan chair". Some materials were placed into it to entice Rita and Ron and it worked. It was thoroughly secured to the tree between a couple branches and wooden framework. Rita and Ron brought in more sticks and fluff and then you have the nest as we see it now. She is banded on both legs and he is not. And since I have typed this, the link you provided is working again and has the correct time. A fireman who is also a rehabber I think, keeps a close eye on things and posts under WRDC even when he is at work sometimes. Others may post under WRDC, but I just don't know as yet. Also a gentleman from the Miami Zoo, I believe and others keep a close eye on them. These facts may be subject to change as I do not have a tight grip as yet, but this is what I have gleaned sometimes from the horses mouth and/or chat. This couple is very popular and loved by the viewers they have. It is a wonderful close view of the nest and I think they expect to have sound (again ?) next season.
