Thanks Ferenz The one in the nest I call Specks. She must be barely a 5 year old. Feisty! If she is connecting with the males she's mating with, we should have an egg.

Feb 21 Arboretum DC Specks and the male - not Streak - keep mating Both hang around the nest - bringing stix n straw I dont know if our President took a new mate not fully mature or if this is a new male. I have not seen our Lady .... and I refuse to call Specks a lady! On the other hand it wouldnt be nice to call her brat.  Her immature head is white but with specks - and specks on her back.

NATIONAL NEWS! ;D March 2, 2021 WMAL reported on the DC Arboretum eagles! A young hussy has taken over the nest and the President, and chased the First Lady off! Biologists say the male may take a new mate if his mate doesnt produce young, and the nest has not had an egg since 2018. That's hilarious! An eagle pair makes national news! Edited by Gigi

 Unable to access the cam from here for Port Tobacco, so went elsewhere and at 6:39 pm the hatching egg from yesterday has the same appearance today as the one at Big Bear. It looks shattered and compressed. I do not know what the mods here have said as I am unable to access. Oddly this morning, the egg disappeared, then reappeared. But yesterday afternoon, the egg had a pip and you could see obvious movement. The hatching chick did not make it. Video by Robert Tragesse: Pipped egg with movement obvious at 1:19 minute of the 2:29 minute of video, yesterday afternoon.And here is something I have never seen. The hatching egg is gone when the parent gets up, then after the parent settles and gets up a few minutes later, it is there again. Some believe it was caught on the parent when they got up the 1st time and when they got up the 2nd time it had fallen off of them. Video by Robert Tragesse:  Egg missing at the 25 sec mark when parent gets up the 1st time and reappears at the 4:26 mark when parent gets up the second time.
