:loveshow: I pulled back the red line to about an hour earlier. This group of four chicks is growing fast. Mom was feeding them, and they each waited their turn so nicely (with good sized crops). I was thinking that all those good manners will fly out the window in a couple more weeks. Although the free for alls are fun to watch

I just got a message that Chesapeake's banding is TODAY. Babies look calm now, so I dont think theyve been banded yet.

BANDED
May 20, 2023

The peregrine eyases were banded!
Thank you to Craig Koppie, a raptor biologist, for banding the four eyases and cleaning the window pane as well. Craig confirmed that there were 3 females and 1 male.

:loveheart: I had to pull the DVR back 41/2 hours (around 11 am) to find the kids who were gathered around an adult for a feeding. The one big one seemed to be self feeding while the others were accepting bites from the adult. Must be once the sun is overhead they all scatter for shade, as there was no one to be found while I looked in at 3:30 pm….

Found 3 at one time. This ledge is so huge, you'd need a cam operator all the time to chase them down..
