Thanks T, I finally found where both chicks were on the porch at the same time. Mom just finished up with a feed. Still have not actually seen Flash, he provides it seems, but no participation with the chicks otherwise, unless he is guarding off cam when Mom takes a break.

Mom brought in a small piece of prey 2 hours ago. I think she and Flash are going to have to “step it up” with prey delivery….mom was feeding Elaine while the smaller male, Chip was pulling off small pieces for himself.

Flash Alert!It was so funny, scroll back to about 5:35 am EDT to see Mom come in with a bird to feed and you see Flash's head as he pokes it in cam view for a second with a piece of prey hanging from his beak. Mom goes ahead with a small feed to the chicks and leaves with the remains. Shortly, Flash returns with his treat and eases across the porch with it and leans over and passes it off beak to beak with Chip. Flash watched his son try to self-feed for a minute, then left. Mom came in later for another feed, but I didn't calculate the time. They have both been on the porch today hanging out, then went back down into the nest to rest.

Hi SWINWK, I didn’t read about your sighting until after supper, which was too late. I wish I had seen it! Right now both Chip and Elaine are lounging on the ledge…. :loveheart:

They sure are good buddies and are going to have a lot of fun once they fledge and hone their flying skills!

Elaine decided to go up onto the porch and sleep this evening. As she would relax her head would fall backwards and she almost lost her balance while crouched a couple of times. She just went down into the nest a few minutes ago.

Wow, seeing large white splotches now, hope it clears tomorrow. Looks as if it rained there today...

They are really loosing fluff now and are dark enough that I can make out their forms in the nest through all the cloudy haze on the cam right now.

During the day you can see pretty well with the spots on the cam lens and tonight seems at least some better than last night.

Elaine is really feeling energetic this morning. Paces back and forth in the box while flapping her wings. Then leap onto the ledge and flap some more! And back down, flap flap, and back up, flap flap!

As I first looked in, Elaine was finishing up on a piece of prey while Chip(I could only see his shadow) was flapping his wings like crazy out on the perch…about 10 minutes later Elaine was preening, and then lounging on the porch while her brother Chip was still flapping his wings like crazy. I’m wondering if he will be fledging today- he’s just got that attitude…
