I’m sorry I missed this visit—I have trouble with the rewind on this cam. I wondered about that too, if we’re missing some action to the left. I saw that leftover and wondered.

It would be nice to see JJ too.
Thanks,
Kathy

I cannot find what I am looking for..and I agree...this DVR is frustrating...but, I think that left side is deeper than I first thought. All 3 have been over there and you'd never know it...LOL...

ooo..mom there about an hour ago...

here's proof we're missing stuff...

Mom comes back...hops/skips her way through the box...kids begging..

After the above pic, Mom looks up (no pic)

..and this was the next frame...say what?

I've also managed to "find" 2 really good poop shots...so, somebody (or 2 or 3) has eaten today..

Thank you that makes sense. I would think they would be less active if they’d only gotten the food we’ve seen. Good detective work!

wish I had more than theory....I just found an almost 3 minute freeze in the DVR....no telling how many of those "freezes" exist. With no time stamp...who knows how much "time" we are actually missing..

Think we're stressing now? Just wait until they leave the box and we can't see....

Time for me to go stress at Richmond. Banding today and the dreaded Pen was installed...

OK....this was about 1 1/2 hrs ago...actually too hard to tell when it was...

Chick on the left is eating..and ate for quite some time. Couldn't find a drop or freaking out kids. It ate for quite some time...

Image

It was eventually stolen by one of the others...

Image

Here's kinda what it was. Looked like a complete small bird (now a mess)..was it leftovers or brought outta cam view.

Image

Here's what I find interesting. I know the kids are hungry...but must not be ravenous...or this would have been a food fight...even for leftovers. Even after the second chick stole it, the other 2 were like..."who cares"..

So, here are my thoughts...kids are currently active..they are preening..I've seen some good poop shots...Mom knows they are there and have been food begging...so, we'll just have to keep watching...This probably should be the only cam I have up as I feel we are missing stuff...even with the DVR...

I have to work Friday/Saturday...so, other than DVR, limited viewing for me.

Other than "us", no professional is watching this cam...unlike Richmond where they are really monitoring right now because of the Pen.

I have had similar thoughts skygirlblue, I hope they have had enough to tide them over. I can watch tomorrow, if the chicks start having a lot of trouble at some point I will need a mental health break.

Hopefully they are okay. I’ll report here tomorrow. Is it correct that I need to use a third party site to upload pics here?
Thanks,
Kathy

As of 8:14pm I have not seen another feeding or visit since this morning. They did all seem to have a good meal this morning, they have picked at leftovers during the day. Hopefully all is well.
Kathy

Edit to add—food drop off at 8:45pm by parent, spotted by Karin on YouTube and seen on rewind. Dinner!

Thanks McKat...

This pic from around 6 ish am...I don't know when this whole bird came in as it was also there a little after 5 am. Really hard to see as its coloring is very similar to the kids..

Image

Image

Just a few minutes ago..

Mom came in, locating leftovers and passed them out...nobody was really interested. She stayed outside the box prior to coming in and must have marched back and forth as the kids were following her.

Finally somebody is eating the bird that's been in there all morning...The chick looking up and "screaming" is watching a parent.

A very old pic...but, unless something has changed, the view outside the box. I'll look for more (I have better ones.)...

This is the amazing Elizabeth.

Thanks for the captures, SGB! I don't understand the reaction of the parents; even after they banded them they're still here and you'd think they've continued as before with parent feeding. :girlyes:

Ya know...these guys are usually hacked so I don't really remember what goes on here when they stay. I think the parents want them out of the box...they should be out of the box by now, but I think that grate must be scary for them. Its not solid and who knows what they perceive to be under it. that's why I posted that pic above.

Anyway...a JJ feed around 11:30 or 11:40. I do not believe he brought this in. Who knows how much prey is laying around in that box. This appeared to be a complete bird.

Note the chick on the far right also appears to have a complete bird.

Image

I'd have to get lucky and try to find the beginning of this to see if the chick on the far right snagged that prey from JJ and he just found the other one.

Who Knows.

I'm still frustrated that the cam has not been pulled back...maybe it can't..
