Terka, yes!! Not only did he bring a prey gift for her, he tried feeding it to her! I think they believe this is the same couple as last season.

Was surprised to see one of them come in at about 18:38 and walk up to the bowl, then get in and dig it more and remain standing there as complete darkness fell.

I watched for a bit yesterday and one of them lay in the nest for awhile also. did not post pictures as most were already posted.

Thanks, Beth! I'm wondering if this is not Lena, but the new gal from last season that came in and rejected the egg that Lena had laid. Although, HopperJet faithfully incubated it forever. She laid it at 16:24:04 and his first visit was at 17:16. Her labor was long and she evacuated in the bowl several minutes before the egg was laid. Edit to add: Made me wonder if first time she has laid an egg.

Cali over on Explore thinks this is Lena - the mate before the 2021 youngster

I believe the female will be called Lena even if there was a displacement (or displacements). No way to know, since all birds are unbanded.

The male is Hopper - yuk

It is my understanding that the breeding female here will be called Lena, even if there was a displacement(or displacements). There is no way to be sure who it is, since the birds are not banded.

She laid the 2nd egg at 8:55 am. HopperJet was not present. She's still standing over the freshly laid egg.
