We “get “ to watch? Nah, God made me to care- it’s just how I’m built. Everyone’s different and that’s OK.

We care
Moxie cares
I've watched these bird cams for years, and some is tough to watch.

We track some thru their life
We get attached to this year's chicks
Then let go when they fledge
And are delighted when one of them raises a brood at another nestbox with a cam!

I'm old, lotta memories, lotta letting go
and thats my trip down Memory Lane for today!

I’m wondering if that is a pip in the lightest colored egg? Little guy is resting his head on it right now...

Thank you for the catch, Catwoman. Little guy gets pretty tuckered out by the end of the day. Would you say he is a passive eater? ( He doesn’t go after the food when it’s held in front of him?) It is wonderful how carefully Moxie feeds him...

There is no question he is not as vigorous as other hatchlings
hope he makes it

He doesn't have to be anything other than a passive eater. We'll see what a passive eater he is when the rest of the eggs hatch! :teehee:

I think, dad is watching proudly over his little one ... yes, I am wondering if he will be a only. BUT there are still some who believe another hatch is coming so we will see...

He hatched 4/23, so he's only 4 days old. I'm hoping some of the other hatch.

Just wondering- is it a little bit of a “puzzle” for Moxie because she feels she needs to keep the eggs warm but little guy probably doesn’t need to be incubated all the time? He seems to always be under her....
