Something strange is going on here.

Mom was on the eggs for sometime while he was there....and didn't necessarily want to get up...when she did, she went to the perch. The male (and I'm not sure this is August) was bowing and swaying...as if courting...

...and then it appeared he attempted to mount her!!! Who does that with eggs!!

He left and she got back on the eggs.

I'm gonna go back through the DVR to see if he did any incubation today.

There does appear to be a pip.

Male was there several times today. I could not find anytime when he incubated the eggs...I wonder how long this has been going on? Mom seems to realize that things are not normal as she really didn't leave the eggs for long periods of time...

He would come. She would be slow to get up...he would "court"...sometimes she would leave. He would leave..and Mom would come back.

Good grief. I hope this turns out ok...Dina or somebody was watching as there were periodic zooms..

will put cam up tomorrow but will be out in afternoon. well if a takeover, he is showing interest and will bring food. I do not know the male here.

Hope so too....He seemed smitten with her...no clue how long this has been happening...and sure hope August is OK because I doubt this is him...Thank goodness for the DVR so we can use that to explore the action and not have to record.

Oh my gosh! what a day yesterday! and today. i'm so glad you are all watching so that i know what the heck got into August (not August) this new male is courting and bowing and yes trying to have courtship activity for sure. I saw Titan and August very alert and alarmed on Friday, and i said there must be another falcon out there. This new male does not have bands either, we'll name him soon enough so we wont have to keep saying new male.
On another note, there is a new site/new nesting box 4 miles as a crow flies at MSU Stadium with 4 eggs. i will bring up their camera and watch to see who is coming and going. is their male disturbing our nesting?
this new male had a lot of blood on his chest yesterday :( DINA
