Jackson County, MI - Two eggs as of morning of 3/27/22. Although I can't see her bands, I'm 99.9% sure the female is still Big Red ... her highlights on top of her head are the giveaway. If you get confirmation of her black/red 33/K band, let us know.

I don't know who the male is. A new arrival in 2021 with a black/blue band? Need help here. :help:

Copper/ Houghton- no wonder they haven’t shown their faces yet….Monday’s high temperature will be 22 degrees F, with winds of 15 MPH …. The rest of the week high temperatures in the 30s degrees ( F.) :cold:

Here's the story ... when the two nest boxes were removed from the bridge towers, the Audubon members built new boxes and installed one on the roof of Mich Tech Univ Campus - EERC Bldg, North edge, and the other new box on Quincy Copper Mine Shafthouse - SE face.

The falcons never used either box last year. Instead, they nested inside one of the i-beams on the bridge. Three chicks were seen when they got big enough to pop up out of the hole in the I-beam. One was rescued and banded, fed supplemental food on the bridge by the DNR, but later landed in traffic and was found dead.

"Large birds" have been seen from a distant bridge cam flying around the bridge towers this year. So much for the old adage "If you build it, they will come." The new boxes are not that far from the bridge. I wish they would find them!

Jackson County- It was fun watching the tiercel round up his 3 eggs- he was really quite cute. And I could see that his bands are black and blue. I couldn’t tell the numbers…

Copper- I saw where MI Sue said that the falcons laid there eggs on a beam on the bridge last year. Seems like the eggs would have been shaken right off…

Stadium peregrines- They have been in the box today- feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, it appears they are both unbanded. The female has light streaks on her head…
