:eggthumb: Sky, that was the 1st thing I thought when I opened WCV's update is how big Yellow Girl looks in the bulky gloved hands of the handler.

:buzzybee: A juvie I assume just tried to land on the S on the side of the building we can not see well. It bumbled and flew away, but it seemed to take awhile to gain control if it actually did and fly eventually off to the right of the building. It was not a pretty sight.

Gosh...did I miss it?

Cam pointing toward box, but I can't tell if Yellow is in there.

Yellow is still up there. Unfortunately, cam just went off line.

I do have a few pics, but have to leave. I'm afraid they will have to wait until tomorrow.

:buzzybee: Cam remains in same position, so unable to see any of ledge where she spent some time the day of their fledges. Will check back later to see if cam moves, but looks as if we will have to wait for this evenings report.

:buzzybee: Just came back in and the view is on the SunTrust building, so assuming Yellow Girl has flown since her arrival back to the nest this morning.

:buzzybee: Came in and found someone already on the roof of the lower building before they lowered themselves down the stairs. Seemed to use their phone to text. Could have been maintenance though for that building. Went back in and noticed a possible falcon on the S of the side view of the SunTrust building and a possible flyby from a different falcon across that side of the building and the front of it, then flew out of view to the right.

Well I really intended to go down this weekend and I kept getting critical care patients in rehab. It is so damn hot here, Im sure nobody is flying today. I will get down there as soon as I can free up to check.

:5val: Well, I paused for a long time before I posted this to let my thoughts come and go and cause I don't want to get in trouble. I do jokingly recommend they add a RN to their crew, because that RN would have told them last year when they decided not to do the pen as there was a lesser chance of a pre mature fledge, because there was only one chick instead of 3 or 4 to: "Yes, do the pen." If a safety measure is deemed necessary for your patients/falcons to prevent an undesirable outcome then apply it to each one, regardless if you have 1, 4, 10, etc. It's not a crapshoot. Always do at least a quick head to toe visual when receiving from another facility. You would be surprised as to what you might find. Update from VDWR:

"Post Release Update on the Yellow-Banded Fledgling"

Well, here are my pics of Yellow from yesterday. My first thought when seeing her was "tail guard". but thought, naw...how could you miss a tail guard!! After reading the report, my suspicions were confirmed...the report explained why the cam stopped!!! (I couldn't wait around longer for it to start back up.) Glad they tried to get her back, sorry they weren't able to!!

I'm impressed she is able to fly with that thing...and certainly hope they are right about it coming off by itself. The tail is for steering and braking...be careful out there, Miss Yellow...your brakes aren't quite up to snuff, yet!!

:eggthumb: Seeing a new view with a large looking falcon on the roof's edge. Wonder if it is Yellow Girl or Orange Girl? And just saw 2 falcon flyovers!! Very exciting!! In a bit 3 of them landed on the opposite corner of the roof. They walked out of sight, so don't know for sure, but they came in fast as I imagine a falcon would.

Darn it! I went back in and shortly got the COD and when it quit, there were no birds in sight.

:loveheart2: Another bird on the roof, no way can I distinguish it in this lighting and position.

:buzzybee: The screen was blank when I came back in and they just moved it back to the SunTrust building. Hoping we get a report on them tonight.

:buzzybee: No updates for yesterday. While I was watching the cam, they moved it from SunTrust to Bank Of America and at 1st I didn't see anything, but then it looked to be a juvie sitting on top of the O. Then they pulled the cam back to the ledge of the nest showing both buildings in the distance. Just now, they went back to BOA and the falcon is still there.

:buzzybee: Two falcons now, 1 on the n and 1 on the k. Size says it is a female on the n and a male on the k.

Is one an adult, and one a juvie? By the way, what’s a “tail guard”?

It's hard to tell T, but I am hoping both are juvies. The "tail guard" is what is placed to the bird's tail to protect it during transport.
