I was over at Kate's site awhile ago and she said the medium date for Dorothy to lay is March 24th - she's calculated that over the years so I would think no need to worry yet. I wrongly assumed that because Dori was so far ahead that there might be an issue but Kate knows her best.

I don't know if they could do anything in the case where a falcon is egg bound because she'd likely fly away. I think Dorothy is easy to net during banding because she's such a fierce protector of her babies and won't leave them. On her own though I expect she'd bolt.

I never even thought about that thanks carly.

If you can't get the cams in Firefox, you may have to disable AdBlock for that site. That's what I did. Use the little red stop sign icon in the lower left corner of your Firefox session to set or disable.

This is new for me I have never seen a falcon poo so much when trying to lay an egg. Is this usual?

I'm still a bit worried about "D" she is still standing so rigid just like she is still in labor.

No kidding.
:teehee:

I wouldn't blame her if she rolled it right out of the nest.

Must be harder as you get older to produce an egg I expect. She's coming out of it now. Hopefully she's okay and just needs some rest.

Poor dears I wish we could take all that hard process away for them.

Glad that first egg is over for her for this season--she seems to have had a rough time. I was hoping that with all the time I spent watching her I'd catch the first egg being laid, but what's important is that its done. Thanks for all the commentary!

Congrats to Dorothy & E2!
