Wow--Great job, Clara, timing your incubation so that they all hatched with 24 hours of each other. That way we shouldn't have to worry about a "little one" not getting enough food! :egg20:

Thanks for the video & captures. Isn't it funny how quickly the babes learn to beg for food when a parent returns to the nest?
:teehee:

Exactly, no little one to go crazy over and it is indeed amazing how they know to turn toward their parent and open their mouths, well most of the time.

I'm having the worse luck trying to catch these babies in action.
Think maybe I just missed a feeding here. Watch Clara sit on them most of the morning. Now I have to go out again.

That's a great video, SGB! Thanks! :egg20:

I kept checking today from work hoping somebody would post some pics of the kids, but apparently they were hidden most of the day!

:laugh2 Actually, at the feeding I watched, it looked like the littlest ones got more than the bigger ones, but they all collapsed in a pile so I'm sure they all got their fill! :loveshow:

Not much luck today either and I've put in about 4-5 hours of watching. Sure hope that everything is ok and they are being fed.

Earlier today, I saw FC sleeping on the wall and Clara in with the chicks, when suddenly he flew off and she left immediately also. Saw her again later and with the chicks again but not FC. Of course can't see anything when cam is aimed at nest.

FC arrives at the nest and everybody jumps to attention. Sure hope that he brought in prey and that Clara is preparing it.

He feels so bad with all the little chicks begging for food that he leaves the box for a minute to find a worthless piece of scrap and tries to feed them.

Awww...they are hungry. The 2 in front are trying to get food from each other's beaks. :egg15:

Good grief, it's heart stopping trying to see where every bite goes. There is a little one not able to compete.

That big one is going to need to get full and go down before it will get a chance.

Here he is again. The one in front of him has fallen on his back and can't get up.

Ok she's moving around a little.

The feed is over. Not sure that one got enough. Really think that it only got what the big one dropped out of its mouth. One of the chicks held food in it's mouth not swallowing forever and they all got feathers to eat. Good grief, I'm exhausted.
:ohboy: :egg11:

Well, they will all get another shot at it next time. There was plenty of prey left it looked like. Wonder if she stashed the leftovers near the drain.

I recorded the whole feed because I was feeding my dogs, so I just finished watching the entire feed (20 minutes). She's got 2 little piggies who she focused on first. I saw the little one in the back. She waited til the end to feed him. I always have to remember she does that - feeds the big ones first, then the smaller ones.

So they did all get fed. Did they get enough? I hope so. Hoping the big ones will be full still and little one will get up there first.

I don't know how many feeds they got today. When I was watching, before feed, babies were left uncovered. I don't see many updates on forum about feeds and I was out most of the day. So, I'm not sure what's going on.

FC drags those leftovers back in and I thought that he was going to feed Clara.

The chicks are fed again very gently and baby gets stuffed. :loveshow:

I've had the cam up most of the day but pretty much just glanced at it now & then. Haven't seen a feed, but saw plenty of times they were uncovered so I could have just missed a feed. Just saw Clara trying to tuck everybody in & having a tough time doing that cause they're growing. Also saw a baby poop shot so they are eating! :flirty:

Just saw a nice, loooong feed--it seemed to go on forever, but everybody got fed & Clara ended up feeding from 3 sides so she had access to everybody. I'm thinking that maybe instead of many short feeds, she's doing a small number of long feeds. Rest easy, ljames, the babies all got full bellies! :egg20:
