I looked at the nest last night and nearly cried. I thought she was dead and frozen in the snow. Why in the world can't these people place a covered nest box up there? :egg18:

I looked last night also and thought where is she. looks like she kept eggs dry.

they do not have covered box in Hamilton either

It's what Harvey Webster put on the front page on CMNH, we all can trust him!

ljames, the tray gives them access to grab chicks or whatever from the window. If it was enclosed, there would be no access to the nest.

Nobody would want to walk the ledges to get to the chicks.. way too dangerous.. the parents would kill people on that ledge and there would be no room for a human as the nest goes almost to the edge..the window plus the drawbridge make it all easy… and even without a box, the way the wind swirls downtown, even with a roof over their heads, snow could still get in..

Asked friends in Cleve about, this is the best I can tell you. :girlyes:
