Thanks for the news of the juvie making it back to nest box, Reenie. That's quite an accomplishment for a new flyer!

In other news, Kim posted a short but sweet video on the Wilmington Falcons Facebook page of Green Girl fledging this morning.

On Green's first flight, she made it to the top of the Wilmington Trust Building where she stayed the whole time I was there this morning.

It was a beautiful warm and sunny day for watching Red Girl, Trinity, and all the kids in Wilmington. Two of the boys were on the Nemours Building roof, while the third boy and Green Girl were at Wilmington Trust. I saw a little flying from the boys on Nemours, plus lots of flying from the parents.

I had to leave the fledge watch around noon, so I hope that Jane, Reenie, Faith, or Greg will post some updates here about the afternoon happenings. And of course, Kim keeps posting updates on the Wilmington Falcons Facebook page.

It was a wonderful day, with lots of Falcons to watch! LOL! They kept us busy moving from Bldg. to Bldg. with built in expertise. They flew well for being Fledglings. Green Girl stayed put on the building she flew to, from the fledge today. This is what we experienced with each Fledging .Then the second day they move around more. Red Girl and Trinity are fine parents who raised 4 beautiful Chicks. Even though 6 eggs were laid, Mother Nature and the help of one special person, 2 were not able to survive. The Way of the Falcon!

P.S. It was nice to have Jane and Reenie traveling to be with us today from Harrisburg. Our female Red Girl 2008 is from Harrisburg.

A SPECIAL "Thanks" for the continued special Dedication of Kim, who tirelessly spends her time from morning to night to make sure that the Young are safe. Not to ignore all the dedicated people helping.

Not related to falcons but for all of you B95 fans out there, he was spotted again today at Reeds Beach!!!!! Totally blows me away!!! For anyone who doesn't know about B95, google Moonbird B95 and tell me you don't get goosebumps when you read his story!!!

What a wonderful day in Wilmington today. We did not get there in time to see Green Girl fledge. She spent the entire day on the roof of the Wilmington Trust Building, right next to the garage roof, not always in the same spot. She was still there when we left a bit after 7, and have learned she stayed there the rest of the time. The males seem to have discovered what their wings are for and how to use them. Somewhere around 5:00, Red Girl brought in what looked to be a Mourning Dove and took it to Green on the rooftop. Yellow saw that too, and in no time he was there, too. He flew in from a building a block or so away. Interesting that Red Girl beak fed both of them, and at first Yellow got most of the meal, but Green got her share. A bit later BOTH adults brought in even more food, some which wound up in the nest box, and one of the male juvies flew right into the box, which was pretty cool to see. Red Girl took food to another of the boys that was on the roof of the Nemours Building, right by the nest building. She dropped it for him there, but sat on a railing above him the whole time supervising.

Jane, I got chills reading yours about the return of one sailing into the nestbox. What a thrhilling sight! :)

Red Girls two 2014 chicks are over Rainbow Bridge with Fargo's and GSBs neverhatches and Mom Norfolk. Whenever I think of Mom Norfolk I get tears. She left many healthy eagles she raised. Maybe someone on this thread will remember her. All beloved pets are there and there is only joy. Sigh. Its too early in the morning for this mush!

That Red Tape on Red Girl is looking really good for being put on in 2008. Tape is important.

LOVE those pictures of Red Girl and two of her boys. She certainly has inherited all of her mom's wonderful traits. Learned a little while ago that Green flew off from the Trust Building and landed on a ledge of the Brandywine Building several floors below the nest ledge. Those ledges are pretty sloped, and hope she can be comfortable there.
