Art would be Art McMorris, who normally bands Harrisburg's kids. I don't think he did it this year because I saw some comments in the topic about having new people doing it this year & that it took too long. :egg15:

Talk about ants in your pants - maybe ants in his feathers. He's up and down, up and down. Poor baby, probably too hot for him to be on the eggs anyway.

1:53AM - B is starting to get active on the eggs. She's repositioned several times in the last 30 minutes and has gone razorback...

Image

I've got the headphones in and am not hearing anything right now, but she must be feeling them and hearing them because she looks down, does some wiggling - not the normal egg collection for incubation wiggle.

It's 65F, so not hot, nor cold. But there really would be no reason or her to razorback to cool if things were not progressing with the eggs!

It's so cool to have a Peregrine here that came from a cliff nest and the man is Art McMorris...he had signed his full name on the bottom of the email to Tracy.

Exchange.

Beauty was up and off eggs. DC is now in. He greeted his babies with chirps and chups.

She left prior to his arrival. I do think I heard the chick(s).

Both are sitting up, rather than tightly tucking. Seem more alert rather than completely relaxed.

Temp is 71F according to feed.

Again, the noises are very, very faint. No clear pipped sounds yet. But, this mic is excellent and with headphones, can really hear pretty good. The hardest thing is trying to hear past the city noises (bus, car, sirens, horn, people, other birds, etc).

Oh, yes. Daddy's on duty and he just can't get comfy. Antsy - picking at pebbles. Eggs not tucked in. I think I hear activity (I know I keep saying that). He's wiggling a little on the eggs, but not really hard.

I love this time. It's so funny to see their expressions. They are not completely in zonk out mode, but more wide eyed and almost like they are listening/feeling for their babies. Probably anticipation... just like us!

OMG - DC is taking to honking. Honk then chirp. Twice... He was on the front lip of box. :egg21: :egg21:

I guess he thinks, "I'll make them, I'll incubate them and I'll feed them, but you have to lay them and hatch them."

He just doesn't want to stay on the eggs very much these past 2 days.

Beauty came to check in at 12:26 at corner of deck. DC was chirping on eggs, staying put, so she took off.

1:32pm - he must see Beauty flying as he's talking up a storm right now. Don't see her on cams.

Momma's home and wants her eggs back. QUICK arrival to deck/beam & into box. She knows that's the way to get him going. :egg11:

1:51pm- Beauty left in a hurry. I had volume on mute while watching something else.

No coverage on eggs right now. Waiting to see if DC shows up. Whatever was/is out there, got her up in a hurry. Hopefully he has some food for her?

Can hear some screaming out there. Here comes DC. Back to box. Maybe that was his incoming from a distance.

She was gone for a really long time, so surprised to see her up and out so quickly.

His beak looks clean on blow-up, so not sure what's going on.

Sounds/looks like Beauty back on deck. 1:56pm. DC chiping on eggs.

B just took off again.

She was only back for less than 20 minutes when she took off again.

She's talking to her babies and I can hear them when she's up. They are still faint, but I think a little louder today than yesterday. :flirty:

I'm home now. Will bring up stream and listen a bit! Thanks for all the updates today mw!

I know you have headphones, so if you are hearing them also, I'll know I'm not going nuts!

Errr..how do I break this to you...I've been listening for 2 hours and I've heard rain, parents chirping/chupping, trains, ambulances but no peeping yet. I :sum8:

Are you saying I'm nuts!!!

:egg21: :egg21: :egg21:

At least you tried. :egg12:

Well, I can't hear anything right now either. They seem to be more active in the morning/day time. And it's not crystal clear like there's a pip. More like sound within, and it's not constant.

Well, if I had not been farting around this afternoon, I could have been listening and if I heard something, could have pointed it out.

If these babies are going to hatch Friday or Sat, we should be hearing something clearly soon.

And as I type that, I hear something.

Don't know how to describe it but, have you even had a gurgling tummy. Or if you drink wine, you sip/suck wine over tongue when tasting and it sort of gurgles.. or if you have a plastic baggie filled with air you submerge in water and there's a small hole and the air escapes rapidly, making a little gurgle? Tat's what they sound like in the eggs before pip - at least to my ear. Once pipped, they sound like loud chirpping, peeping, or to me, like a dog barking - arf arf arf arf.

Well in my defense I'm on allergy meds so I'll just take your word for it. My ears keep popping in and out :egg11:

No, No, No... don't take my word for it. For all I know, I'm hearing some other little birds flitting around the area. These headphones pick up a lot and sometimes I wonder if there's some little finch nests someplace close.

Nothing for you to be defensive about... It's me who sits here with these darn headphones in all day long - ignoring the world. Sometimes thinking I'm hearing things I want to hear, not what is really there..

Okay, time to start dinner.

THANK YOU for trying! :sum9:

DC is very antsy on the eggs this morning. Moving this way and that way. Scooching a little. Now more relaxed.

There he goes honking and chirping at his eggs. I don't see Beauty anywhere and eh's tucking eggs in, rolling them around, wiggling on them.

That's right Daddy... encourage them!
