Hi Bev, thank you so much for your concern over "the boys". I checked over on the Canton Peregrine Falcon facebook page, and it seems Chad is "camped out" on the garage roof.... Both boys have done rather well, all things considered. Meek (M47) has flown all the way over to the AEP tower, and now back to the nest box building. That is at least 3 blocks one way! The other boy (Echo M48) had flown next door to the bank, then a block over to Benders restaurant, and now he too is back on his nestbox building. The city of Canton has a community evening, called First Friday, on the first Friday of the summer months. Chad is concerned the extra "hub-bub" might confuse the fledglings, and/or put Mystic and Mo on an even higher alert than they already are.... I hope this is helpful, Bev...

It was a great day for a watch. Matrix, Ray, Suzette and myself covered the activities from 9 to 6. They were both at the nest when we arrived. One decided to do a short flight around the building over and over. He looked steady. The other took off later in the day and soared. Her caught a thermal and was riding it for sometime. A Hawk was coming in while he was up there but M & M positioned themselves to take care of him. Another RT came through and was grounded by M & M. They are in high defense mode. Been watching everyday this week. The boys have been taking things slowly. They are taking short flights, chasing Mystic a little but overall they don't seem in a tremendous hurry to take over the world. Mo has been providing food all the time. He's really stepped up to the plate and it's gonna be fun to watch him with the juvies this year. Hopefully uninterrupted. The weather has been overcast with little wind. Maybe that is keeping them in check and that's probably a good thing. Some from today. Posted an album on FB.

Thanks Kittenface. Here's the latest message we received. Just keep hoping she can make a comeback.
6-13-14 update: Laura received an e-mail from the vet with a photo of what he called the "pharyngeal mass" (which, I'm assuming refers to the blockage in Reign's throat). This report doesn't sound promising, but they are clearly doing what they can for her. As written to Laura by the vet: "Still very touch and go on this bird and I wouldn't say odds are good for survival but we will try! Still has IV cath stomach tube and on 3 meds".

We will be downtown tomorrow watching the boys.
