I don't know much about the site, save for bits about the famous pair that was there for years. Do you know Donna if there is enough food source to keep them there through the winter? Or would they have to migrate elsewhere and then come back in the Spring?

Fancy and Groucho were the long-time residents and spent the entire year in the Syracuse area, from what I've read.

Plus, I'm so happy to hear that Pigott is the new resident female at the Syracuse nest and a new mother to Barb. What a relief to know that she finally found her own nest after disappearing from Brighton Square and Rochester.

*sniff* I'm going to miss all their firsts this week as I'm on fledge watch all week during the day - took the week off work to help out! I'm so glad you guys record or capture every thing so at least I can catch up in the evenings!

I'll try to post what I can for you plus Ei and Carol on the Forum get a lot of good pics. Best of luck on fledge watch..hope all goes well!

Our boys are flying high, having both fledged on the 26th! On the 28th, Mercury hit a window, spiraling down a few feet but recovered nicely and has continued to fly very well. Both girls have been staying close to the box, especially Tesh, our fainting drama queen and the food hog...this girl loves to eat, mantling every bit she can grab! Today was another milestone as this tweet just came in:

Home after a few hour drive.

Turned on cam & checked Twitter. They were looking for Nettie. When Shaky was looking for her with cam 1, cam started shaking. Juvie landed on top.

A minute or two later, juvie lands on deck. It was Nettie! On her first day out, sounds like she flew all over and stuck a landing on top of cam 1!

Woo Hoo! Go Nettie!

I'm still in awe that she is alive, has her own dedicated nestbox (no more unsafe places), a baby ( :girlluv:

) and watchers who will love her, her babies and her mate!

So wonderful to see her again and in her glory!
