Thanks for the video! That's his babysitter, Nettie, our mother hen. She spends a lot of time with Nor'e while the other 2 are doing their thing. This injury is so heartbreaking..darn wind just slammed him into the building when he was trying to land and he was such a good little flier! He's trying so hard, takes short flights around the NB area but the wing just isn't right. I just wish he'd come to the ground so someone could look at him. The watchers did say there was some talon tagging this AM between Mercury and Tesh! We're going for an evening watch tonight..can't wait!

Every year she goes in to protect them from those bad fireworks..it's so sweet.
Thanks for thinking of Bill. His heart went into afib in April, just before our DC trip, and he has to be cardioverted, which might be this week if his INR is where they want it and if they can schedule it..lots of ifs..he just wants it over with and, hopefully, the rhythm goes back to normal.

When I tuned into the cam about 10 minutes ago, there were 4 birds on deck. 1 must have been a parent because the next thing I knew there was a food fight between the girls. They dragged the food onto the ledge & eventually settled down & shared. A couple of minutes ago Nor'E joined them & grabbed a piece of food.

Now all 4 are home.

Nor'e just put on a show, jumping to NB roof, to cam 4, back to roof, down, running down wall, running back, to roof, to cam 4, to roof, to deck, to wall....

He had 2 excellent, clean flapping sessions.

He's looking really good.

He still has some bend in the wing, but honestly, just looked fantastic. Working up his confidence. Less hesitation. Picked on Nettie, after she bit him twice today - once on his sore shoulder and another time on his right shoulder! She got a taste of her own medicine.

He's now in the boy cave at 8:15, but I'm so happy I got to see his exercise session!

It is good to hear of his exercise session--thanks, mw! I had the cam up but was doing something else.

There was just a food delivery & Nettie got it. Nor-E doesn't seem to be interested, or maybe he'll just wait until she settles down.

Edit: Now it looks like both girls are eating & Mercury has joined Nor'E in the boy cave. Guessing they're all home for the night!

Bill and I went to Rochester this evening for a watch. Tesh and Mercury put on a great airshow while Nor'e did some great flapping at the box and Nettie brother- sat! Here's a short clip of Mercury and Tesh talon tagging!

Thanks! It was a beautiful night for a watch..lots of laughs with friends. Tesh and Mercury are such awesome fliers and were so fast and all over the place, this was the only video that came out good. I felt so bad for Nor'e but what great news today that he finally flew again!!!

What news to wake up to! I am so happy, tears are filling my eye. And to hear Beauty accompanied him the entire time, just makes it so much better. Beauty & DC are such a good set of parents.

After taking to the sky again, Nor'e returns home:

You can see his shadow on the well wall and occasionally his wing while he walks the upper ledge before flying down to deck. His return is at the 4:07 mark in video.
