Update for the Maine nest not so encouraging for the eggs inless another male has come along.

PEFA 150 Peregrine Falcon "Feisty's Dad"
On April 17, we admitted an injured Peregrine Falcon rescued from the ground in Portland. He had reportedly collided with a building and was unable to fly. His bands identify him as the resident male at a Portland-area nest, and the father, therefore, of a falcon named “Feisty” who we had in rehab in 2011. (Feisty’s story is told here: http://www.avianhaven.org/ahs2011_feistys_story.pdf )

PEFA 150 Peregrine Falcon "Feisty's Dad"
Feisty’s dad was in terrible shape on admission. His mouth and face were full of blood, some of which originated from a deep laceration at the base of the beak, and he was unable to use his legs. Our initial treatments focused on getting the bleeding under control. At first, we weren’t sure he would survive – but those “feisty” genes pulled him through! Within a few days he was moving his legs, then pushing up onto his ankles. By about 10 days after admission, he was standing on his feet at least some of the time, and readily eating cut-up mice. On April 30, he made it onto a perch for the first time!

Great pictures of him here on their FB page

If eggs are to ready to hatch, I can handle their loss. just as long as adults survive

hoping the male at Maine will be better.

Hi folks, sorry for the delay to communicate. I was waiting for n update from Avian Haven. I see the post below with details of the male of the pair. Notably the female that was incubating four eggs had to abandon nesting efforts this year. I guess we will see what happens in the future. Fingers crossed for the male...a steadfast partner these last seven or so years.
All the Best,
Patrick

ACADIA NATIONAL PARK, Maine — Not many visitors can claim actually to have been born in the only national park in Maine.

Not that they would, but there are seven new peregrine falcons in Acadia this year entitled to make such a brag — the highest number in the past several years. The chicks were born at three sites in the park where adult peregrine falcons frequently build nests each spring as they try to reproduce.........

UPDATE ON ROBIN A/K/A FEISTY'S DAD
Original story of how he came to Avian Haven

Here is the update

Avian Haven

PEFA 151 "Robin" aka Feisty's Dad
Peregrine Falcon, rescued in Portland April 17 where he had reportedly collided with a building, has made slow but sure progress toward healing the deep cut at the top of his beak. Though his face can't be seen well in this photo, the area around the nares (nostrils) is now almost normal looking and we are beginning to see what looks like keratin filling in the beak divot. He shares a large outdoor flight cage with another peregrine, a juvenile admitted in August.

Thanks KF...it sure was fun reading all about Feisty again...I remember ALL of that...I sure hope he has made a great life for himself...

Glad to know his Dad is on the mend...that must have been some collision..

For those of you not familiar, the Dad is the resident male at the Maine nest. He was injured during incubation and mom had to abandon her duties, for obvious reasons....

OK there are some updates on the juvie & Robin at the Avian Haven FB page Oh the pictures are so cool.

Avian Haven says about Robin,
Unfortunately, we can't predict his release yet, although his beak injury has continued to improve. We would love to be able to release him by late winter so he could rejoin his mate before breeding season and not have to fight off a new boyfriend!
Female juvie had some of her feathers imped there are pictures of her flying to a higher perch soon after SO COOP how they can do these things.
