Bird Cams Around the World

IMPORTANT This cam has become more popular than I ever expected and I am so pleased that it has. Among other things the exchange of information is excellent - we're all learning. And some recent new viewers, like grade school classes, is great. I hope gets kids more interested in owls, wildlife, and biology in general. However, the increase in visits has escalated beyond what I can afford for the long term. A specific example is the bandwidth (If you're watching, you're using bandwidth) and bandwidth costs $. Specifically, we have been doing well paying a flat rate of $400/month for 2 units of bandwidth. This used to be adequate. But over the last few weeks the bandwidth use has jumped by 10X! This translates into much higher expense and it could easily become several thousand dollars/month to keep the cam going.

What I can do to lower expense is 1)lower the cam resolution and 2) reduce the timeout back to 5 minutes (remember that if you don't close the page when you walk away, you're wasting bandwidth, i.e. $). I don't want to do either of these. So, please make sure you exit the page when you aren't watching and of course, please consider contributing. Also, if any of you know an individual, foundation, corporation that might be interested in helping out as a sponsor, please let me know. I'm working on finding a sponsor, but could use some help.
