Added: Thanks, Loza - Loza's great pics on previous page.
1600+ watching cam, chat monitors getting ready, asking viewers to be positive.

7:31 am - 7:39 am
Romeo left the nest and returned.
Good look at the eggs. All looked intact, still no mention of the crack(s).
(Maybe we're hallucinating - I don't think so. :girlcrazy: )

It sounds so peaceful at the nest.

It was hard to detect movement when the eggs were visible because of the wind swaying the nest...

:15heartbeat:

I do not know WHY mods have not mentioned one egg is hatching / cracking - movement

8.45 am He has cracked thru a triangle hole now

This morning Romeo called out - as if to Juliet.
He may know where she is, maybe she called to him

WATCH for Romeo to bring food to the nest today to feed chick

:holwave:

I think the mods had a conference and decided to only be positive about the situation. IMO, if there's the least bit of negativity, people will call every authority they can think of - and the cam will be shut down. (I've already read chat comments like, "can someone go and get the eggs/chick(s), etc." We've seen enough cams turned off and IMO, they're trying to avoid that.
So, I guess we wait.....
(Shep, wouldn't it be great if Juliet IS in the area - and took a few days off to recover????)

Yep, I remember, bev. Didn't it happen with a female AND a male?

One egg is clearly hatching.
Missy and Romeo will raise it.
If Juliet does return, will this be a 3-some?
That'd be fun to watch!

=====

AEF mentioned Dad Norfolk eagle is paired with his daughter.
They raised young.
I learned a lot back in the Norfolk cam days.

The female was killed - yes people went nuts.
They took the 3 young and raised them in a rehab center.
I followed it all a long time.

=====

An Ohio nest the male left. A visiting male adopted the Female with young.

=====

E4k
Yes bev and bonbon I watched them too
Other eagles wanted their prime territory
There were fights

=====

We often see an intruder chase off one of a bonded pair.
Nature has her ways.
3 eagles raise young sometimes. Unusual but it happens.

No one wants to hear anyone say there are too many eagles! :teehee:

My whole point is, this is Nature's business. We just watch.

strange, I cannot get cams right now. none of them

it does not matter if romeo pairs with a sibling or a offspring. this happens with falcons all the time, and has done nothing with the gene pool.

will not be here much but will check in. I just pray they find Juliet and if they do not, it does not mean she met her demise. she may be healing and then move on.

we all know this, just not something we wanted to happen. we must always remember, eagles , falcons, etc. only go on instinct. Juliet's instinct was to protect her nest, and the others( whoever it was) instinct is to protect themselves. We must never be upset with the other eagles. and of course , as they mature to adults , their instinct( raptors) is to find a nest site to brood at. and if they have to fight for it , they will.
some move on , and get the hint, after a few run offs) some are more inclined to try and take over.

It is hard on us , as we get so attached, I know this so well.

still hoping for no hatch. in my world , this would be best case scenario right now.

have a great day :15heartbeat: my heart is with the people who so love this nest and romeo and Juliet.

just my thought.

Something is going on. A2 landed in the nest while Romeo was incubating and she was alarm calling and looking overhead and all around. I wonder if she is being challenged. I pray it is Juliet. A2 has only been here a short time, but she appears to be defending the nest. Romeo's head feathers still stand up when he sees her flying in. He is still defensive about her.

Bev, they were working on the cams. Right now cams 2 and 3 are working for me.

236 pm - A2 (left) hops down into nest alarm calling. Romeo gets up and flies off. She stays a little while and eventually flies off too.
Image

218 pm & 245 pm - Two views of the eggs. No pip. I believe the feathers stuck to the eggs have been fooling us.

2.30 pm Alarm calls, female landed in nest with Romeo.
At one point he flew into tree with her.
I cant interpret eagleze
Both eagles were calling together - to me it was like a pair declaring their territory.

2.15 pm Very excited vocalizing by 2 eagles.
Romeo left nest and flew to her
Mods still say no pip

tweetie_AEF (Moderator): Romeo flew off at 2:14 and returned with we believe A2 ( young female who has spent the night ). They sounded some non-aggressive vocals.
2.30 Romeo returned to the nest and rolled the eggs
A2 joined Romeo at the nest, and Romeo flew after light vocals
A2 remained on the nest with the eggs and showed no aggression

Mods are saying no pip
but

I am not sure why the mods posted that the vocals were soft. They were anything but. A2 appeared to be defending the nest from something. All is quiet now and Romeo is back on the eggs.

Cams are working on and off. I missed Romeo leaving, but A2 followed him back the nest at 327pm. He leaves again and she follows. She follows him around like a puppy dog and I get the impression that when he leaves, he is avoiding confrontation and trying to lure her away, but she just keeps sticking with him. On the other hand, he may think that when she's in the nest, she wants to take over incubation, so he leaves. Not sure of the dynamic, but I get the sense he is not comfortable with her and this merry go round keeps him from the eggs.

327 pm - A2 followed Romeo back to the nest.

He is back on the eggs again, solo. He stays with the eggs as long as A2 is not there.

Hamlet forecast: Current temps mid-40s increasing to near 60 through the day with clear, sunny skies. Winds much calmer today at 5-10 mph.

Sound is out of syn with video, cams up but not perfect
I heard eagle chatter when video showed Romeo tucked

jd_AEF (Moderator):
1:30 am Romeo is tucked in the nest and the female eagle is tucked on the Sleep Branches.
4:20 am, both Romeo and the female eagle are tucked and sleeping.

5 am Eagle chattering - reminds me of a typical eagle dawn song

5:10 am A few vocals from A2 female eagle, but Romeo is still tucked and sleeping.
Missys call is so SHARP and LOUD! Kinda like a spoiled brat (I didnt say bi--h but I want to)

Thanks loza
