:1val: Gabby is across the street and Samson is at the LY. Jules and Romy are lying on the nest side by side asleep for now. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

Apr 28, 8:02 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK-IN: Gabrielle was perched on the Wallenda for some time tonight as the kids romped in the nest. She later flew across the street to the ET. Then Samson flew in empty handed to the kids disappointment. He perched for a few and flew in the direction of the ET. When we left the nest, Gabby was perched high in the E, and we found Samson perched high on the LYT. The whole family can likely spot each other (until it's dark anyway). SED to all

Apr 29, 7:50 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY TUCK-IN: It's a windy day in the Hamlet and rain on the way in the morning. The kids are snuggled after all the excercise they had today and a late night fish delivery. We tucked Gabby across the street at the ET. We didn't see Samson, but he's likely roosting in a more sheltered place or in the LY now. A good day: 1 Percher (Jules) and 1 Brancher (Romy), AND a lot of hovering! Happy 10 wks to Jules! SED to all!

:1val: I know Romy branched yesterday, so guess it won't be long for that fledge milestone for the 2 of them!! I watched the Family Feast video and it sure was unusual to see the kids watching the parents eat on the nest toward the end of it. Tonight Samson and Gabby are on the evening tree (they have a photo and they are perched together) and Jules and Romy are lying on the nest asleep for now. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

Apr 30, 8:24 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY TUCK-IN: Deliveries were rather slow this drab, rainy morning, but the kids remained patient. They both scored with the afternoon deliveries, tho. Then tonight during chat, it went wild! One fish delivery after another to the point the kids rejected them. Then both mom and dad joined them in the nest, and thru all the chitter they had a sweet family feast. As you can likely see, the kids are sacked. Mom and dad were perched together across the street at the ET when we left. Sweet Nite!

Apr 30, 10:10 PM
babyhawk_AEF (Moderator): What a great fishing day! 7 Fish deliveries today: 1:06 pm (Samson), 3:18 pm (Samson), 4:26 pm (Samson), 4:30 pm (Samson), 6:58 pm (Samson), 7:15 pm (Gabrielle) & 7:32 pm (Samson)

May 1, 9:30 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): FRIDAY TUCK-IN REPORT: Well the kids are home where they belong, but where are mom and dad? Neither were seen tonight up to dark at the nest or in the Hamlet area. They are both rascals and fly day or night, so they likely landed and are perched near the nest as they always do. SED to all and to all a good night!

:1val: Samson although he did not spend the night showed up at 4:18 am to the nest tree, possibly warding off a barred owl. That I can tell, Gabby did not show up at all today. Samson is not home tonight but has been in today. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

May 2, 7:51 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): SATURDAY TUCK-IN: Hmm. . . two nights in a row and we didn't spot Samson or Gabby. Although it looks quite dark at the nest, it's still light enough for them to land in the LY. I'm sure wherever they roost tonight, it will be close to home. SED to all and take good care of yourselves and others.

:1val: Gabby did finally show up today in more ways than one. Not only did she bring a fish for each kid this afternoon, she ran a juvie off. The action started shortly after Samson brought a fish to the nest at 5:27 pm. As I am writing this, I could hear Gabby alerting, so unsure if it is over or not. I sure hope the juvie remains safe!! Probably just hungry. Hoping there will be a video that brings it all together later as it is difficult to follow switching from cam to cam.

May 3, 6:39 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Just a summary of chat time for those who couldn't join us: A young juvie came to visit the nest tree, likely in search of food or a place to rest. Samson and Gabby were off fishing at the time so Romy and Jules were left to defend. They were rock stars!

May 3, 6:40 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Gabby arrived to escort the juvie away and brought a fish which Romy and Jules enjoyed after all the excitement.

May 3, 6:42 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): I think the juvie tried to grab the fish on his way out but the kids were having none of it!

:1val: It is unknown where Samson is tonight, however Gabby is on the tree and Jules and Romy are on the nest. Hope the visiting juvie is tucked safely somewhere. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

May 3, 9:16 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): SUNDAY TUCK-IN: Whew. . .a wild nite at the nest tonight as a juvenile eagle arrived and stayed at length in spite of Romy and Jules' displeasure flapping and vocalizing away with a vengeance. Gabby finally arrived but the visitor was persistent and refused to leave until Gabby made it clear she wasn't welcome. Wings were flapping and vocals were loud. The visitor flew and landed in a nearby tree and later did a fly-by the nest. Gabby's vocals directed the eagle outta there. All is well! (continued)

May 3, 9:18 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): The kids crossed another mighty milestone tonight defending their nest (and a fish to boot) with no injuries. It doesn't look like mom is going away anytime soon tonight. Dad wasn't seen at the LY or ET. He missed all the action! SED to all!

May 3, 10:05 PM
babyhawk_AEF (Moderator): 5 Fish deliveries today: 12:08 pm (Samson) & the rest by Gabrielle @ 1:30 pm, 2:31 pm, 5:27 pm & 6:44 pm

babyhawk_AEF (Moderator): Feedings today: 12:09 pm - 12:12 pm (Romy self-feeds but Jules steals fish), 12:12 pm - 12:40 pm (Jules self-feeds), 1:31 pm - 1:50 pm (Romy self feeds), 2:32 pm - 3:00 pm (Jules self-feeds), 5:28 pm - 3:36 pm (Romy self-feeds but interrupted by juvenile visitor) & 6:51 pm - 7:21 pm (Romy resumed self-feeding again.)

:dancingegg: Got a scare when I went in to check on them and only Romy on the nest. But Jules is up on the sunset branch. I guess she thought if that other juvie can hang out on a branch out here ... so can I!! :teehee:

:1val: Interesting, they think the juvie was in this eve for a short visit. And they have some info of where she is coming from and that she has no siblings. Gabby came in to spend the night after the Tuck Report. Don't know where Samson is tonight, but Jules and Romy are on the nest. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports and updates:

May 4, 7:27 PM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Something landed on the nest tree quickly about 8:03. Romy was vocal and Jules got up to check it out and laid back down. Jules went up to the Sunset branch at 8:17 to have a look around and came back to lay down with Romy. He seemed to tell her she belongs in the nest at night lol! Right now they are snuggled together like best buddies. Maybe Samson or Gabrielle will return to spend the night. SED's to all.

May 4, 8:48 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): MONDAY TUCK-IN: What an exciting day as Jules reached another milestone perching most of the day on the Sunset Branch while Romy supervised (lol). They are now snuggled in the nest bothered by bugs, as there is very little breeze tonight. We didn't see mom or dad tonight, but they're around. We did see an eagle fly from the nest tree around 8ish. We thought it may have been mom or dad and missed the arrival. Come to find out (based on Romy and Jules reactions) , it was likely the juvie (continued)

May 4, 8:51 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): that visited yesterday. We are fairly certain this eagle is from a nest nearby based on a ground photo taken and a photo from the nest nearby. They both have a white spot on the chest. This eagle was solo in its nest, so she's likely looking for a "buddy". The eagle appears large. After Romy and Jules fledge, they could team up with this eagle, but as long as they are in the nest, the nest is sacred to them and them only! SED to all

May 4, 10:36 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 11:34 pm Gabrielle arrives to perch on Wallenda branches, so they should be safe and sound under her watch!

:1val: Jules and Romy are on the nest with Gabby across the street and Samson at the LY so far. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

May 5, 7:44 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK-IN: Jules entertained us today finding new branches to perch on including LOP! She sure has the strength to fly the skies! Romy just isn't quite ready yet, but he's getting more height with his hovers. We don't want him to have an oopsy, so in his time, he will branch out. They are endearing together in the nest tonight. Mom is across the street in the ET, and dad over yonder in the LY. With the big moon, they could likely find their way home tonight. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

:1val: So far, Gabby nor Samson is on the nest tree tonight and it is unknown where they are.

May 6, 8:24 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): WEDNESDAY TUCK-IN: We weren't successful locating Samson or Gabby tonight, but mom spent considerable time perched at the nest today, and dad delivered as usual. Jules tested just about every branch on the tree today. She's quite confident and one strong eagle. . .both mentally and physically. She is ready to fly but surely won't leave the nest or the area for some time once she does. Romy is just content hanging out in the nest and enjoying a good meal. He will make his move when he's ready. SED

Hello all. I have been perching and keeping an eagle eye out on this nest. Jules has been really doing great branching - hop flapping between branches and the nest the past two days. She is looking strong.

Just an update to remove any worries this morning. A juvenile eagle popped in the nest tree around 7:34 am while Jules was out on a branch and Romy in the nest. Parent chased the juvenile away, but Jules hopped down to a branch below the nest to get clear of the confrontation. You will not see Jules on cam right now, but she is safe and she did not have an accidental fledge.

:dancingegg: Jules did go on to fledge at 7:50 am per mods:

May 7, 6:52 AM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Jules fledged from the Wallenda branches at 7:50. Romy watched her go.

I wonder if that is her that I hear calling out at intervals ...

 That was such a nice deliberate take-off at 7:50 am. Congratulations Jules! I captured pics at work, but I am sure AEF will post a video. She was certainly ready to go. Well done. :ohyes:

May 7, 8:11 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY TUCK-IN: What a day!!! Jules didn't disappoint and was raring to go. We saw her land in a a tree in the LY area and she soon took off. We didn't see her after that, but she's likely loving her new-found freedom. She shall return to the nest. It may be tomorrow or a day or so later. She's a confident and strong eagle. Romy is holding his own. Gotta love him holding down the fort. SED to all as we await Jules possible return tomorrow. We didn't see Samson tonight. Gabby is staying put!

:1val: Romy is lying on the nest. Jules has yet to return since her fledge. Samson is on the tree and it is unknown where Gabby is tonight. They believe Jules flew out of the Hamlet. The Tuck, Fish, Feed Reports:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:36 PM
FRIDAY TUCK-IN: Our Jules wasn't seen today, but Glenn was on the lookout for her in the Hamlet several times. We really believe when she flew yesterday morning, she flew out of the Hamlet. She's likely close by checking out the beauty she's been observing yet unable to experience. We have every reason to believe she will return to the nest. It's highly possible Mom is with her. Romy did some serious flapping and hovering today. He will soon be out on the branch, but in his timing....not ours! Weather has been spectacular. Tomorrow may bring showers in the afternoon. SED to all and please be safe and remain healthy.

babyhawk_AEF#9650 Today at 9:12 PM
One Fish Delivery today: 12:33 pm (Samson)

One Self-Feeding : 12:34 pm - 1:06 pm (Romy ate, looked around & ate again finally finishing all of the fish)
