FRIDAY TUCK-IN (Dec 8): Quite breezy up in the nest, but our girl, Gabby, is tough and keeping her precious cargo toasty warm. Temps tomorrow night will dip considerably. Samson was "on duty" and flew just before 6pm when Gabby arrived. We were waiting for him in the LY, but he didn't show. He wasn't seen in the ET either. However, he could have arrived after we left and is no doubt close by. It's all good. SED to everyone!

SATURDAY TUCK-IN(Dec 9): Gabby defines tuck and no bugs tonight to be a bother! Chilly night in the Hamlet tonight with lows likely in the upper 30's which is good sleepin' weather for our eagles. Samson was tucked in his favorite pine tonight in the LY. SED and peace to all!

:1wavingsnowgirl: Samson is home tonight and currently asleep with his head tucked and can be seen on cam 1. Gabby is on the eggs. The Tuck:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:02 PM
SUNDAY TUCK-IN (Jan 10): Our family is fully tucked tonight at home together. Samson is roosting nest-side on the Wallenda branch on cam 1, while Gabby is in a nose dive position on cam 2 keeping their prize possessions toasty warm. Temps are in the low 50's with a low tonight in the upper 40's. Monday temps should be in the 60's much of the day with no rain in the forecast. SED Samson and Gabby and all watching!

MONDAY TUCK-IN: Another fine day in the Hamlet! Samson delivered a whopper of a catfish for Gabby (which she devoured). Then he arrived with ? what looks like he grazed a corn field! Perhaps with these chilly nights, he thought Gabby needed a bigger blanket. Well, she's snoozing in her fashionable beak plant mode, and Samson is fully tucked on Cam 2. SED to our dear Hamlets. SED to you too!

TUESDAY TUCK-IN (Jan 12): Your ground crew was absent tonight, but it was a fine day in the Hamlet today. Samson delivered 2 catfish for Gabrielle, so she had a mighty fine breakfast and dinner! Samson flew from the nest at dusk and is likely roosting tonight in the LY or ET. He will, no doubt, return bright and early in the morning for duty! SED to y'all!

WEDNESDAY TUCK-IN (Jan 13): Ground Crew, Glenn, saw Samson land on his favorite pine tree in the LY before 6pm. With a slight rainfall, he’s likely roosting there for the night. Look out for him bright and early in the morning. SED y’all!

gabby was a attacked on nest Saturday afternoon
she was forced off nest by intruder , intruder left nest and Samson came in to take care of eggs. GAbby returned in a bit. The intruder landed on a side branch and GAbby defended by moving backwards to protect eggs, wings up.
one does no t know exactly what she was thinking, but they usually try to lure intruders away form eggs.

SUNDAY TUCK-IN: We were at the nest glowing over Gabby perched on LOP with all her poise and vocals and then to the Wallenda side of the nest she went. She soon jumped into the nest and Samson flew. We knew his destination.....and there he was perched on his favorite pine in the LY to roost for the night and so close by. A very peaceful day at the nest as Gabby's embryos are developing and soon to be hatchlings. Countdown to Pip Watch: 18 days (could be 17!)

MONDAY TUCK-IN (Jan 18): leigh_AEF has done the tucking tonight! It was a treat watching Samson fly over us with his fish, land on Wallenda (as Gabby was yipping all the way), fly off, and do a circle and land in the nest with his prize for her. What a fabulous provider he is. He's on duty as Gabby is smoozing yet supervising as well. Gotta love them! SED y'all

:1val: All cams are offline currently.

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 7:15 AM
All cams are down including our Axis Cams. There is power on site. It's an issue with internet thru AT&T. Connor is on it. Thank you for your patience.

:1val: Cams still offline at 7:00 pm.

babyhawk_AEF#9650 Today at 5:19 PM
It appears that we will not have the Cams back up in time for our Tuesday evening chat. There has not been any update from AT&T nor Connor up to this time. We do not have access to the Axis cams either so the Cam Operators cannot view what is happening on the nest. None of the YouTube channels are available. Please know that our Ground Crew will relay any updates in regards to seeing Samson & Gabrielle in the Hamlet & assuring us Samson & Gabrielle are doing fine. Earlier today @4:00 pm, one eagle was seen, perched over near their favorite golf course. Not known which eagle. We apologize for this hiccup in providing a view into Samson & Gabrielle's nest. It is hoped that the AT&T outage will not last too much longer & it will be fixed as soon as possible. Chat will therefore be cancelled this evening. Thank you for your understanding.

:1val: Cams are still offline. It is believed Samson may be at the LY. The Tuck:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 8:44 PM
TUESDAY TUCK-IN (Jan 19): Quite a frustrating day as we were unable to view Samson or Gabrielle on the cams since about 8am this morning. The internet interruption is a wide-spread issue with AT&T not only affecting the nest area, but parts of Florida, Georgia and other parts of the country. We are at the mercy of our provider, AT&T. We have been given no further information on when this will be corrected , but hopefully soon. The good news is our eagles don't depend or even need us to thrive. We can be certain all is well in the nest and with our eagle family. Ground Crew Glenn believes he saw Samson perched tonight in his pine in the LY, but it was quite dark to confirm. We were both at the nest around 5:30-6pm, but it's impossible to see the incubating eagle from the ground. No worries, tho, we are certain all is well. SED to everyone!

:girlcrazy: Not a quick fix. Site update on cams:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 7:42 PM
UPDATE ON CAM ISSUE: It was determined this afternoon after a service call from the AT&T technician, that the reason for our cam outage was due to our fiber optic line from our equipment box to the ATT&T junction box has been cut. It is a reasonable distance from our equipment box to the AT&T junction box, and impossible to locate where the cut is due to the logistics. It was cut likely due to irrigation repair done or recent sod placed....nothing intentional. The tech put an emergency order through for a new line to be laid. That will involve a contract company they work with. We hope it will be done quickly, but we do not have knowledge when at this time. Once the line is laid, the AT&T tech will need to return to hook up the new line with our equipment in the box. This is quite an inconvenience, but be certain the eagles do fine without our participation (although it's driving us crazy not being able to see them as we are used to). The good thing is the eagles are still incubating for another couple of weeks. We hope the work will be complete in the next few days, but we have no timeline. Our chat schedule may be affected while the cams are down, so do check for posts in chat. Your ground crew will post viewed activity and spottings. Thank you for your understanding and your patience.

:1val: Samson and Gabby both observed today. The photo of Samson tonight that Gretchen refers to is at the site. The Tuck:

gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 7:24 PM
WEDNESDAY TUCK-IN: I stand corrected......it appears Samson did fly to the nest earlier, but he left and was later spotted at 6pm in his favorite pine tree in the LY likely roosting for the night. It was very difficult to get a good pic of him (thanks to Glenn), but here he is high in the tree (yes, the dark spot!) LOL All was quiet at the nest when I left around 6:15pm. SED
