I saw a message on Facebook about an hour ago saying that all four of Red Girl's girls were on the bank roof next to the garage where their watches are done. For those of your on Facebook, check Wilmington Falcons page. Great information and quite a few pictures are on there.

I read a post on Facebook that earlier today one of Red Girl's girls went after a pigeon in the rain! She missed. Latest report is that she's on the roof of a Marriott next to the parking garage where the watches are done. The other three girls are on the bank toof.

What a nice surprise to tune into the cam and find one of the juvies perched in front of the nest box. She's gone now.

I had the cam on for a LONG time starting around 6:00. Red Girl was perched out in front of the nest box, but I could tell some heavy rain was coming through. She moved back further to stay dry. Eventually I noticed a tail from above, but couldn't tell much about it, but I kept thinking I could hear a juvie. The tail eventually left, and Red Girl was busy preening. About 20 minutes ago a juvie flew in, screaming like crazy. Red Girl retreated to inside the box, and the juvie continued screaming. I managed to see white tape on the right leg band. I do believe White was the youngest of Red Girl's kids.

I watched a video that was posted on Facebook about an hour ago. Around 4:30 this morning when it is still QUITE dark, one of Red Girl's kids brought in LIVE prey that she obviously caught herself. It was Orange, I think the first born of this year's group. Their Facebook page is called Wilmington Falcons.

Red Girl was sitting on the ledge for HOURS yesterday. At one point she went into the box to do some scraping, but basically was just sitting there napping and doing some preening.

I just saw a video posted on Facebook of one of Red Girl's kids (Silver) bringing prey to the ledge. It was a Cuckoo, and Silver made short work of it. Check Wilmington Falcons if you are on Facebook.

I don't know how many people tune into the Wilmington cam at the moment. IF you should see Red Girl please report how she seems to be. I learned yesterday that she may be having problems with her left leg.

Pretty sure it's Trinity at the nest box. Second time today I've seen him. I did see a post on Facebook a while ago that Red Girl visited the box this morning. :-)

Red Girl definitely has a problem with her left leg. There is no injury visible, but she is obviously in pain when she puts weight on it, particularly when landing and walking. It looked very bad on August 20th, and I didn't see her for a few days after that. She finally re-appeared, bonding with Triniuty on August 26 and again today. At least she seems able to hunt, so hopefully that will give the injury time to heal or strabilize.

Our female had injured her leg, during nesting season. But with time it healed. So without mouths to feed Red girl , should be able to rest it and heal :7val:

It is Sunday morning, and Red Girl has been at the box entrance for quite some time. Very busy preening and napping at times. In two weeks I hope to be able to stop in Wilmington on the way to Cape May.

That was Trinity in the box this morning. Red Girl spent a five hour long visit to the box yesterday, three of those hours were spent lying down on her belly. It looks like that is the way she is able to get some respite from the discomfort in her left leg, or maybe that is the only way she can rest the overworked right leg, which takes most of her weight right now.

Thanks for the correction. The falcon I saw this morning was not in the box, but over at the side toward the Nemours Building. It is upsetting to see her sitting so much, but she's getting to rest that leg. And thanks for the video. For what it's worth, our Niecey will often bum in the scrape in Harrisburg for no apparent reason.

Saw a video on Facebook from earlier today. Red Girl and Trinity had a long bonding session in the nest box. She seemed to be doing somewhat better with her sore leg. Every time I check the cam I either see Trinity or no falcon at all.

Trinity stops in several times a day. Red Girl tends to visit the box in the afternoon. Today Trinity and she arrived before 11:30 am. As of 1:16 p.m. she is still there. Some days her leg seems better than others. She definitely puts less weight on her left leg when she perches, and that propbably tires her right leg. That would explain her desire to lay down from time to time. I do worry about the abuse the injured leg might take in thumping prey birds when hunting. I haven't seen him bring her food, but Trinity tends to keep the food caches stocked so she can probably find food there.

I don't know how long Red Girl has been there, but she is currently lying on the cement in front of the box. She's been looking around once in a while. VERY upsetting to watch. :-(
