:flirty: Redwood Queen and Phoenix visited the sanctuary again today. So glad RQ has come the last couple days as he was alone on a few days he visited.

:15heartbeat: Excerpt from KSBW ActionNews:

BIG SUR, Calif. —
A wildfire burning in the Los Padres National Forest in Big Sur has grown to 200 acres, as of Friday at 11 a.m.

The fire, named the Willow Fire, is burning north of the 2020 Dolan Fire burn scar, according to the National Weather Service. Rough satellite imagery shows the fire burning between the coast and the Arroyo Seco Campground.

Condor Update- 6/18/2021

Hi viewers,

Fire Update-
The Willow Fire started yesterday in the Big Sur Backcountry (currently 250+ acres) and is still a good distance away from the Condor Sanctuary and our 3 coastal condor nests. Fortunately, two nests are in areas that recently burned, so the threat is low. The third nest is an unburned area, but in a large redwood close to a river. The Condor Sanctuary recently burned so the fire threat is also low. We will provide updates as we know more, thank you for your shared concerns.

:buzzybee: I've read estimates of the "Willow Fire" being at 2000 acres and another at 4,000. The last official estimate earlier today was 2,000. Both Redwood Queen and Phoenix visited the sanctuary today. And RQ took a bath in the watering hole!

:eggthumb: Both Redwood Queen and Phoenix were at the sanctuary today. I read the "Willow Fire" did get to 3,000 acres, but they have gotten some containment now, although upcoming weather conditions may mess with that.

:eggthumb: Redwood Queen and Phoenix visited the sanctuary early this afternoon. I do not remember the exact %, but the "Willow Fire" is in the majority range as far as containment goes now.
