Well...

I do believe we have a situation here...New female/male maybe?
I don't remember a ringed leg before...
She/he is not brooding the eggs just standing in the nest cup.

This morning Ploughboy sent this update

"In Seili there has been an intruder since yesterday (05:00 PM EEST). The intruder has ring in his/hers left foot and ospreys who are nesting there are not ringed.

We are not sure where the "permanent" male is now.. maybe he visited the nest early this morning but he was there only a moment and left again.

Fortunately after all those "attack episodes" the eggs are in safety and now we must hope that the right male returns soon and brings some fish to female.

The intruder makes all that mess...there is nothing to do with the boats.

This boat that was there yesterday, belongs propably to Archipelago Research Institute,,, they'll sure know how to act nearby nest."

Hi

The "big drama" might be over. The intruder tried to destroy(?) the eggs.

White Wagtail is very curious what has happened.

The nest has been empty over 2 hours now. Eggs are still there but are they ok - we don't know.
We don't even know if the ospreys are going to return.

The ospreys returned to nest at 12:30 PM (EEST),,,, "Big Drama" is not over yet and we have to wait what happens next.

Now we have three ospreys in the nest... The third one is very dark and never seen before. What on earth happens there!

OMG! What in the world is going on here at the nest? I just hate to see intruders interfering with (and often totally disrupting nesting pairs and nests). It's happened too many times already this season with the falcons and kestrels...and now it seems the ospreys also.

I sure hope the intruder here goes away quickly and does not return!
