:eggthumb: Came in on a feeding in progress after hearing what sounded like Niecey's usual response to a food delivery per 85. One chick was turned the wrong way in the cuddle puddle, but was able to get turned around. All 4 received bites, then Niecey broods.

:loveheart: Well darn! I missed whatever just happened if anything as my pc froze again. Someone was in there with the chicks and left before I could get in.

:eggthumb: Feeding just over and Niecey gathered them to brood. All got bites. In their puddle only 1 was headed the right way initially, then 2, 3, 4! Four seemed to miss out on over half the feed, but when it started getting bites it didn't stop and in the end was fed exclusively. I quit counting at 12 and it probably got 20 or more. One of the middle chicks went out early in the feed. Probably the last feed for the day.

I watched that most recent feeding. All seemed to get plenty, and will sleep with full bellies tonight. Lousy wind out of the east right now, and some rain on the way tomorrow.

:15heartbeat: Remember seeing that forecast last week. Possibly will be a poor hunting day for 85. Wind seems to be picking up.

:eggthumb: I was wrong, another feed and I got to see Niecey snatch it from 85 in front of the orange pole part of the ledge! Usually his deliveries are closer to the nest. And over by about 7:57. Then she gathered and is brooding them. It was partially blocked at 1st for me with only seeing 2/4, then they all came in view. All got bites except for one of the middle hatched chicks who remained down in the chick pile and facing the wrong way.

I have not seen a feeding this morning, but have been doing some other things, and may have missed one. Niecey is not there at the moment, and 85 is on the point. It is overcast now, but no rain yet. Temps in low 60s. Will be away for an appointment for a while now.

:eggthumb: 85 is on the point preening and Niecey is atop the back wall, can just see a couple of her talons as she grasps it, so must be standing on 1 leg. The chicks are quiet and sleeping in their cuddle puddle.

:loveheart: Feed in progress. All received bites. When over, Niecey stepped out of the nest and out of sight, then back to the nest. She picked some debris from 1 of the chicks, then her talons. Next she hopped up atop the front wall.

:loveheart: 85 is back on the point and Niecey is atop the back wall, can only see some of her talons and hear her wailing at intervals.

I was sitting in the chair at the dentist's office this morning watching the 11:15 feeding on my phone. It was still going on when the dentist came in, so I had to quit watching. However, my dentist likes birds, and took a quick look also. And Sue's poem brings tears my eyes. Watching Little Dad on the cam was one thing, but seeing him so many times in person cannot be described by any words I can think of. Although I have seen the steeple where he loved to sit, I cannot really bring myself to look at it beyond a casual glance. Time will heal this, but it will take a long time.

:eggthumb: Have been away watching the successful rescue of the Two Harbors eaglet. Do not know if any feedings while gone. Niecey is atop the front wall and chicks are in their cuddle puddle. Do not see 85 for now.

:loveheart2: Feed in progress. All received bites, then Niecey out the door and up onto the front wall, then out of sight, but can still hear soft cries from her on occasion.

:loveheart: Heard Niecey's cries, came in and apparently she has come in atop the front wall to escape the rain. The rain means poor hunting opportunities for 85 for now.

:10sum: Prey delivery just now by 85 to Niecey down the ledge. She flew off. She came back and fed her babes and all received bites including her. Afterwards she walked over to the wall against the building and picked off a piece of the meal she must have flung as Niecey never wastes if possible. Then she broods. The feeds are going great and will only loosely cover in the future.

I also saw most of that recent feeding. Three chicks had HUGE crops, and the fourth not so huge, but it got plenty. There has been off and on rain all afternoon here. So far very little wind. And if I may ask, where are the eagles that were rescued? I heard something about this earlier this afternoon.

:15heartbeat: Niecey is still atop the wall, but wailing now. It's raining now. She just got finished feeding a bit ago, not sure what she wants. I do not see 85 at least not on cam views.

Jane go to California Eagles here. I am almost finished with write up. You can also see the rescue of the eaglet by Dr. Sharpe and team in the DVR for Two Harbors or there is a video that Beth provided from Explore that is quick.

Thanks. I did some searching and found it. Last year in Florida two eaglets were removed from the Fort Myers nest and were treated for an eye infection. After about a week they were returned to the nest. It took several hours for the adults to discover that their babies were back, and accepted them with open wings.

:eggthumb: You are welcome! This was Dr. Sharpe's 2nd rescue of an eaglet in 10 days. On the 16th he rescued the youngest of the trio eaglets at the West End nest of Thunder and Akecheta. That eaglet too had to spend the night away from the nest it had fallen from till he could get there to rescue. I remember that at SWFL. Cholyn the eaglets Mom at Two Harbors is shielding it from the sun right now.
