:flirty: Yay T, I'm glad Maltese stayed on the eggs all night till around 6 this morning. Peace finally left a little before 10 and Maltese came in at 10. This time next week we should be right in the middle of the 1st hatch window!

Elkhart is near South Bend so I thought I would post these pictures here.
Peregrines took over an osprey nest atop a cell tower in Hayden Park, Elkhart.
I don't have any details on how the peregrines chose that nest site or what happened to the osprey. .

:loveheart: Nest exchanges have continued with the longest gaps being 30 and about 40 minutes. Flash currently on duty.

:loveheart: They continued with their nest exchanges, sometimes with a gap of 30 minutes or so, but overall they did great. Maltese returned a little after 9 this eve for the night shift.

:15heartbeat: Where is Maltese? Haven't seen her since she left around 6 this morning. Flash has been incubating with some breaks lasting as much as 30-40 minutes, but the eggs have been alone just slightly over 1 1/2 hours. It is now 2:30 EDST as I leave.

:taz: Unbanded long-legged female intruder little more than 1 hour and 10 minutes ago to porch, rails, porch, nest, porch, nest, porch, nest, porch, nest, porch, then walks off cam to right! She was bowing and talking most of the time and seemed overly excited! Explains Maltese's absence today and possibly Maltese's change in behavior earlier this week. Hoping Maltese is okay!!

Not good...not good at all...certainly explains her (their) absence the other day.

I hope Maltese is OK...Male will stay out of any conflict going on out of cam view...too dangerous for him.

:taz: She returned over 35 minutes ago with same actions as above post, but did seem to be tracking a falcon doing flybys, although not seen per cam, I did think I saw a couple shadow flybys! The intruder went to the rails, then out of sight.

I don't know, Sky...I'm wondering if it is Flash out there as she has been talking and bowing...Have not seen Maltese since 6 am. He also was talking to someone off cam today and I kept thinking when he'd leave that Maltese would come in, but she never did, so I think he has been talking to this female. I am wondering if he is trying to fly to draw her away from the eggs?

My Computer and/or my internet is very unreliable right now....

gonna have to trouble shoot and see if there's anything I can do on my end.

I do think when she was so excited in the box, that Flash may have been up there, out of cam view.
