Going to try and walk down to computer today as I want to video a bit of this morning.
Young one flew over to where adults perch and lay down in upper ledge, adult to r
Left , below and then flew off and flew back and chased adult off.
Thank you cam operators. Just so nice to watch.
If I had known about these cams before , I would have watched sooner

Like so many female peregrines, Solo drove the fledge watch volunteers a bit crazy. When she finally demonstrated some skillful flying we could breathe a sigh of relief that she would be safe now. So, here is a little video of her deciding that during a rain storm would be a good time to attack the lightning rods on the roof of a building.

This is great! Too bad other cams don't show fledglings flying around once they have left the nest!

The addition of two roof cameras to the two Wilmington nest box cameras has given us some fantastic views of the WIlmington Falcons. The roof cameras, being remotely operated, take quite a bit more time to use. The falcons must be located and there is constant manipulation of the controls to keep them in frame. A control window for each cam, a screen capture program, and sometimes windows for the nest cams eat up two large monitors and a lot of time. Cataloging and tracking the video clips takes more time (81 gigabytes of "footage" so far in 2023). And then there is video production and posting to our Facebook page. I often just don't have the time to post to Youtube so I can share the videos with BCAW, and I feel badly about that. Anyway, here are a couple of videos from a week or so ago that I just got a chancd to post. I wanted to share them.

I watched for a bit this morning. 8:12- 8:55
Was not disappointed . Some flying and our youngster fire onto roof. Thanks to cam ops we had beautiful closeups. What a beauty
