This is a miracle nest with 2 possibly 3 females battling for the right to nest. First egg was probably destroyed during the first battle..2 more laid. 2nd female, who stuck around forever, was ousted..either by the resident female who came back or another female. Don't know who owns the eggs, but dad stayed steadfast during it all and incubated when he could.

Sadly, they have lost a chick. Observations noted that it has been ill over the past several days. Unfortunately, a parent fed it to the remaining 2 chicks shortly after it died a little while ago...(I don't recommend going to look)..

I just pray that whatever happened that it is not transmitted to the healthy chicks or to the parents.

Per Milwaukee Regional Medical Center Facebook, Greg Septon banded the two chicks here at the MRMC site. The two females are named “Hayden” and “Rossi”, after motorcycle racing champions because the peregrine can reach speeds over 200 miles per hour just like the world class racers. Band numbers were not announced.

Thanks Tsusan...Greg will do a great report at the end of banding..and we can document then..Can't wait to see what he says (if anything) about OshKosh...I think the "bands" them. (Technically, he's retired...but, he still bands...he's the best!!)

YAY for Redwing!! I checked much earlier today and saw nothing.
